Jack Osbourne shares his heartfelt eulogy, penned for his beloved father Ozzy following his passing in July, publicly after a while.
On July 22, Ozzy Osbourne, the lead singer of Black Sabbath, passed away at the age of 76. This happened only a few weeks following his last performance with Black Sabbath, after he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019.
In his podcast, after a gap following his father’s passing, Jack shared an emotional anecdote. During the funeral of his father, who was fondly known as Ozzy, Jack read out a deeply moving statement attributed to actor Keanu Reeves.
Additionally, he mentioned that upon hearing the news of his father’s death while in Los Angeles, he managed to spend a week with his family in the UK following Black Sabbath’s final performance. This was possible because he had postponed his vacation due to his children getting sick.
Through a struggle to hold back emotions, Jack disclosed a touching anecdote: “I recall a passage that resonated deeply within me, a statement made by someone I admire. This quote has stayed with me ever since.
At his father’s funeral, I mentioned a conversation that took place during an interview of Keanu Reeves on a late-night talk show. During this interview, the host inquired about his beliefs regarding what occurs after death, asking him: “What do you think happens when you die?

When it comes to what happens after death, I can’t say for certain. But one thing I do know is that those who cared about you will feel your absence the most.
As his devoted follower, I can truly say that his impact on my life was profound. He was not merely a father figure to me; he was also a collaborator, a partner in countless endeavors. Together, we shared the joys and challenges of many shared ventures.
In my late thirties, I found myself temporarily homeless due to a recent move. During this time, I stayed with a close friend who generously took me in as a housemate. Sharing a home with him turned out to be an enjoyable experience. My children and I were residing there. He was more than just a friend; we were regular text buddies, always sharing jokes together.
In 2019, during his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Keanu expressed the quote that is under discussion.
Jack shared that he had returned to the UK to reunite with his family for Ozzy’s final performance with Black Sabbath at Villa Park. Following this, he spent a week with his family before heading back to the United States.
He went on to say: “My father passed away in England on July 22 at 10am local time. At that moment, I was in Los Angeles, having been back in LA for roughly a week after my dad’s show in Birmingham. I decided to stay a bit longer, spending a wonderful week with family at the house, including my children.
‘Some really interesting things happened that allowed that week to happen.
Originally, we had planned a family vacation to Portugal. However, unfortunately, everyone in our family came down with a stomach virus, which turned out to be quite unpleasant for us all.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I opted for a delightful staycation at my family residence in England last week, and it turned out to be an exceptional experience. The weather was nothing short of spectacular – sunshine filled the days – and my father’s disposition was truly inspiring; he was in high spirits and radiated genuine happiness throughout our time together.
‘I look back on that now and I’m so grateful for my kids to have the stomach flu as I am today.’
Upon recollection, Jack mentioned, ‘It was early morning in Los Angeles when I was awakened by a knock on my front door around 3:45am.’
A longtime employee of my family, who has been with us for nearly three decades, came to my door unexpectedly today. Upon glancing out the window, I recognized him instantly. The sight of his face told me that something terrible must have occurred.
‘I was informed that my father had passed,’ he added.
As Jack pondered, he expressed, “It struck me how numerous my thoughts were. There was a sense of relief, as if to say ‘he’s no longer in pain. He’s no longer suffering.’ That, indeed, was significant.
It’s really hard for me because I wish he hadn’t left us. He could have been part of our lives longer, but it seems like he was facing some tough times, and it showed during his performance.
The official records mention that the renowned rock star had three reasons cited as his cause of death, as he had been battling Parkinson’s disease for the past six years.
This encompassed incidents such as a heart attack that occurred outside a hospital, acute heart muscle inflammation (myocardial infarction), chronic heart disease affecting the coronary arteries, and Parkinson’s disease accompanied by problems in the autonomic nervous system functioning.
A week following, Ozzy was laid to rest on July 30 in the estate of his own mansion in Buckinghamshire. The event was a personal funeral, with only family members and esteemed figures from the realm of rock music present.
In simpler terms, despite the passing of Ozzy and Sharon’s youngest son, he firmly believes that his father’s influence will carry on, rather than ending with his life.
His journey is radiating throughout the cosmos, and it’s evident for everyone. With that said, let me conclude by expressing my gratitude.
Last month, Ozzy’s family announced with a heavy heart that he had passed away, stating that he was surrounded by love when he died. They expressed their sorrow in a way that words could not fully capture.

After Jack’s intense outburst directed at Roger Waters, the incident occurred on Wednesday, following remarks he made about the late rock icon Ozzy that were made public on Tuesday.
Jack expressed his disapproval towards the English singer and songwriter on various social media platforms, after the latter made controversial comments about Ozzy in an interview posthumously.
Roger openly stated that he isn’t a follower of the rock musician who is renowned as the lead member of Black Sabbath, nor does he appreciate their music.
The 81-year-old stated: “May Ozzy Osbourne, who has recently passed away, rest in peace. He lived a unique life.
He persisted with his statement to The Independent Ink, “It remains a mystery. As for the music, it’s beyond me. I honestly don’t care.
Roger stated his indifference: “Black Sabbath doesn’t appeal to me, it never has. Their performances, including the chicken-head-biting and other things they do, hold no interest for me. frankly, I just don’t care.
In simpler terms, Jack Osbourne responded to an interview by calling Roger a “jerk” or “rotten person” on his Instagram account, which has over 1.3 million followers.
In a post about his tales, he expressed: “Dear @rogerwaters, such a shameful and disconnected state you’re in now.
In a recent message to his followers, he expressed that these days, it appears the primary method he uses to garner attention is through overly dramatic or exaggerated statements made in the media.
‘Dad has long believed you to be a difficult person – it seems I was correct in my assumption. [clown emoji]’
