As an ardent fan, I can hardly contain my excitement! The news of Jack Lowden’s casual pub meet-up with none other than Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, is nothing short of mind-blowing! This isn’t just a casual chat over a pint; it’s the convergence of the silver screen and tech giants, all for the sake of my beloved Slow Horses series!

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself sharing a beverage at a local watering hole with an unexpected associate on a typical Wednesday – none other than the esteemed Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc. Quite an interesting encounter, indeed!

As a devoted admirer, I had the privilege of joining forces with a esteemed business magnate, aged 64, to deliberate on the forthcoming fifth season of my celebrated show, “Slow Horses,” which graces our screens via Apple TV+.

I simply couldn’t resist posting on old Twitter (now X), where I shared a delightful snap of us two chums grinning ear-to-ear over a frothy pint at a cozy London tavern.

Title-ing this joyous photo, the magnate penned: “London at its festive best never fails to charm! Thrilled to catch up with Jack Lowden from ‘Slow Horses’ and share our eagerness for season 5 streaming on Apple TV+

Slow Horses is a narrative centered around a group of agents relegated to Slough House, a lesser-known MI5 outpost, due to subpar job performance. This captivating storyline comes from the popular book series penned by Mick Herron.

In this role, Jack takes on the part of River Cartwright, a rising MI5 agent who unexpectedly joins a team overseen by Jackson Lamb, portrayed by the Academy Award-winning actor, Gary Oldman.

Ever since it first aired in 2022, this exhilarating program has garnered acclaim for being ‘bold, humorous, and intriguing’, and it has been labelled as ‘unquestionably the top-notch spy series on TV’.

On Monday, as the Golden Globe nominations were unveiled, the show managed to secure an impressive trio of nominations, among them recognition for Jack.

The Scottish star has already earned himself nominations for an Emmy and two BAFTAs for his role as River in the series.

His first Golden Globe nod will see him go up against, Tadanobu Asano, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Harrison Ford, Diego Luna and Javier Bardem, Best Supporting TV Actor.

In the same awards category, Gary is up against tough rivals like Eddie Redmayne, Donald Glover, Jake Gyllenhaal, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Billy Bob Thornton for the Best TV Drama Actor accolade.

And Slow Horses will also compete in the Best TV Drama Series category beside

Shōgun, The Diplomat, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Day of the Jackal and Squid Game.

In January, it was revealed that a fifth season would air, following the end of season four in October, Apple TV+ decided to commission a sixth season.

The news arrived following the most recent season receiving a flawless rating on Rotten Tomatoes and setting new records for the streaming platform, thereby establishing it as Apple TV’s top-rated series to date.

Jay Hunt, Creative Director of Apple TV+ Europe, expressed: “People worldwide have developed a fond affection for the Slow Horses, and I’m thrilled that Gary Oldman will guide an illustrious ensemble through another sharp and adrenaline-fueled journey.

Besides experiencing unprecedented success in his acting career, Jack has also achieved great happiness in his personal life, as he married four-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan in July.

In the year 2018, the pair crossed paths during their performances as leading characters in “Mary Queen of Scots.” Saoirse, who was 30 at that time, portrayed Mary, while Jack took on the role of Lord Darnley, the second husband of the queen. Notably, Lord Darnley was renowned for his scandalous sexual behavior.

In the movies, their romantic scenes hinted at future events, and they began dating in December of that very year. After six years, they eloped secretly and got married in Edinburgh.

As a loyal admirer, I’ve always respected Saoirse’s choice to keep their personal life under wraps and maintain a low-key social media profile. However, in a recent interview, they shared a tiny peek into their world.

Last month, the celebrity made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and jested about her spouse continually letting her down by turning down her request for a sentimental karaoke duet based on her preferences.

Saoirse said: ‘I’ve been desperate for myself and my husband Jack to do a cheesy karaoke duet.

‘It’s Shallow from A Star is Born. I want him to be my Bradley, and I’ll be his Gaga. And he won’t do it. He hasn’t committed.

‘And I’m sort of like, well, what’s marriage for? You know what I mean? What are we doing here?’

In the thrill of my fandom, I can’t help but share this: “Recently, I shared with British Vogue that my success came early in life. This realization struck me that by the time I found my soulmate, I’d be at an age where having a child would be a cherished dream if it were to happen.

‘I consider myself lucky because, should I take a brief break, I’m optimistic it won’t mean saying goodbye permanently. However, it’s true that I’ve always aspired to have it.’
