Jack Black‘s box office hit is repeating its success on streaming.
Jack Black’s funny action movie follow-up, which made over $548 million worldwide, is now a hit with streaming viewers. He’s best known for comedies, including the Jumanji sequels, and beloved films like Nacho Libre and School of Rock. He recently starred in another box office success, A Minecraft Movie, which came out last year.
The actor also took a financial hit with Kung Fu Panda 4, released in 2024. He reprises his role as the voice of Po, the beloved panda and Dragon Warrior, who now needs to find someone to take his place as he transitions into a spiritual leader. The film introduces a new villain, The Chameleon, who can change shape.
According to FlixPatrol, Kung Fu Panda 4 is doing very well on Prime Video globally. As of February 3, 2026, it’s currently the fourth most popular movie on the platform worldwide. While it hasn’t reached the top spot in any single country, it’s the number two movie in several Latin American nations including Argentina, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.
Reviews for Kung Fu Panda 4 weren’t as positive as those for the first three movies, earning a 71% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers enjoyed it more, giving it an 84% audience score. The film also performed well financially, bringing in $548 million worldwide on an $85 million budget, making it the ninth highest-grossing film of 2024.
While Kung Fu Panda 4 is now streaming on Prime Video in the United States, the film has been most popular in Central and South America. This suggests that making it available internationally was crucial to its quick rise in popularity and chart success.
The movie has received award nominations, including one for Best Animated Feature at the Saturn Awards. It also introduced new characters, like Zhen, who is Po’s student, suggesting possibilities for future films. However, a fifth movie hasn’t been confirmed yet.
The global success of Kung Fu Panda 4 demonstrates strong audience appreciation for the film. With continued popularity on streaming platforms, and impressive performance even two years after its cinema release, it’s likely the movie will remain a hit for a long time.
