Jack Black scares off Australian paparazzi with Kung Fu Panda fighting skills on Gold Coast beach
On Sunday, the renowned actor Jack Black, known for his role in Kung Fu Panda, personally demonstrated some of his movie magic to a paparazzo hailing from Australia.
The well-known American actor and humorist, aged 55, is at present in Queensland, shooting scenes for a revival of the 1997 horror film ‘Anaconda’, alongside Paul Rudd.
Or simply:
The popular US comedian, 55, is currently in Queensland filming a remake of the 1997 horror movie ‘Anaconda’ with Paul Rudd.
On his day off, he relished the sunny atmosphere at a Gold Coast beach, clad in a pair of Tenacious D ‘Satan’ patterned swim trunks and a vibrant tie-dye t-shirt, when a paparazzo came near him.
The renowned movie star employed an unconventional method to fend off the persistent photographer and his equipment, by dusting off some daring tricks from the repertoire of his hit films Jumanji and Kung Fu Panda.
In a humorous video recorded by a paparazzo using his Google glasses, it shows Black engaging in mock combat with him. He performs powerful kicks and acrobatic punches very close to the photographer’s face.
As the actor danced around him, he made all of his own cartoonish sound effects for each attack.
Black swiftly angled out his legs diagonally, bringing his toes up to a level with his head at an unexpected pace.
In the video, the photographer remarks, “I assume you know I’m taking photos,” to which Jack humorously shakes his head before sprinting along the shoreline.
According to Daily Mail, the School of Rock star apparently noticed the photographer and graciously consented to act out a brief scene for him.
Black appeared to be fully adopting the Australian way of life, taking pleasure in a swim in the sea and having a fun game of frisbee without shoes on the beach.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I put together one of my distinctive, eclectic looks with a pair of stylish dark sunglasses, a tasteful beige Akubra hat, and carried my essentials in a chic baby pink tote bag from the luxurious Langham Hotel, where I’ve taken up residence for the time being.
This afternoon, someone who was close by captured a humorous event at the beach on their phone and shared the video with a popular comedy Instagram account.
The footage quickly racked up hundreds of comments.
One individual remarked, “I thought, ‘Who does this fellow believe he’s – Jack Black?’ only for him to turn around.” The comment was accompanied by a string of laughter-tear emojis.
‘Big fella’s got some flexibility. Good on him,’ a second Instagram user said.
The person deserves all the praise for lifting his leg so high at such an age. I wouldn’t have been able to lift nearly as high without injuring myself,” remarked the third party.
Two weeks ago, Black posted a video on his account with 14.2 million followers where he could be seen working out at the gym, specifically lifting weights.
The musician seems to be making a nod to his band, Tenacious D, through his black and red swimwear adorned with a humorous depiction of Satan.
In 2024, the band was compelled to abruptly cancel their Australian Spicy Meat Ball Tour due to a distasteful remark about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump made by band member Kyle Gass, which caused controversy.
The band’s upcoming creative projects were temporarily halted in July, following Black’s shocking reaction to Kyle’s comments made during a performance in Sydney.
However, in August, he assured fans that there was no need for concern: “I’ve got a soft spot for Tenacious D… We needed some time off, but I truly care about the band. Everyone needs a rest sometimes. Rest assured, we’ll return.
The original Anaconda movie starred Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube and Jon Voight.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m excited to share an intriguing update: A close-knit circle of us, grappling with the challenges of middle age, is embarking on a unique journey. We’re diving headfirst into reimagining our beloved movie from our youth, a nostalgic masterpiece that shaped our childhood dreams. Stay tuned for this fascinating tale of friendship, growth, and the timeless charm of cinema!
Under the guidance of American director Tom Gormican, the reboot of Anaconda is being produced by Sony Pictures. The project has also secured financial support from the state government of Queensland in Australia through their Production Attraction Strategy.
As a die-hard admirer, I’m thrilled to bits! Our blockbuster production scored a whopping 30% tax break, thanks to the Federal Government’s Location Offset Subsidy. This amazing incentive is designed to lure big-league productions Down Under, and it’s working like a charm!
The rainforests of Queensland will ‘stand in’ for the films setting which is the Amazon jungle.
