ITV’s Wales-set crime drama is now trending on Netflix
As a gamer with an insatiable appetite for true crime narratives, I found myself utterly captivated by “The Pembrokeshire Murders” on Netflix. The gripping tale of Detective Superintendent Steve Wilkins and the Dyfed Powys police force’s relentless pursuit of justice in the cold cases from the 1980s resonated deeply with my love for intricate, real-life mysteries.
The crime drama series from ITV titled “The Pembrokeshire Murders” has become popular on Netflix following its addition to their streaming platform this past weekend.
In 2021, a gripping true crime series, set in Wales, made its debut. The storyline centers around the resurfacing of two cold case murders from the 1980s that were re-investigated decades later.
Although the culprit wasn’t immediately identified, an episode of Bullseye proved instrumental in helping Detective Superintendent Steve Wilkins (portrayed by Luke Evans) and the Dyfed Powys police force uncover a connection to a criminal gang scheduled for parole decades later.
Ever since it debuted on Netflix last Sunday (December 1), “The Pembrokeshire Murders” has been gaining massive popularity on the streaming platform, now holding the top position among television programs.
Back in the days leading up to the premiere of this three-part series, I found myself eagerly sharing my thoughts with Digital Spy and other media outlets. What drew me in was the allure of a genuine tale, as I confess, I can’t resist such stories.
“It’s a shocking true story about the worst serial killer that Wales has ever seen,” he added. “It just drew my attention to the work that the police force does behind the scenes and the human impact of what people go through when something like this happens in their community.”
Evans went on to clarify that it was indeed a genuine account of a group of individuals who were determined to uncover the truth and apprehend the person responsible for these offenses.
As a dedicated gamer, I can attest that the grind, the hours poured in, and the personal sacrifices made by everyone involved are an integral part of the narrative. It’s not merely about the crimes, but the intriguing characters who uncover this mystery, their methods, and the mind-blowing turns this tale takes during the investigation – twists that leave you utterly bewildered.
When I read the treatment, I found myself recalling a vivid memory of being in my trailer. Curiously, I felt compelled to Google it since I thought perhaps I was older than I actually was when the event initially occurred.
The Pembrokeshire Murders is streaming now on Netflix.
