ITV’s This Morning Sparks Fury as Other Shows Face Brutal Cuts Amid Scandals!
Tension seems to be building quietly following the news that This Morning was spared from the ITV budget cuts, even as the network undergoes a significant rescheduling and renovation of its programming.
ITV revealed on Tuesday that they plan significant alterations to their daily television programming. Specifically, Lorraine Kelly’s program is set to be reduced from one hour to half an hour, similar to Loose Women, and will air for approximately 30 weeks annually.
The television personalities Ruth Langsford, Kaye Adams, Nadia Sawalha, and Denise Welch, all in their mid-60s, are reportedly worried and upset due to potential threats to their careers, stirring tension backstage.
Prominent television personalities such as Lorraine, aged 65 with a career extending beyond four decades, are reportedly feeling both angry and offended by the recent changes in the industry. Meanwhile, members of Loose Women are already anxious about potential layoffs that may follow.
Beginning in January, the newly established system may lead to job losses for approximately 300 workers. The consultation process kicks off immediately and will run through September. Regrettably, it is expected that these employees will be let go in December following this period.

It appears that there is increasing discontent, as some people believe that This Morning is escaping unscathed amidst the scandals it has faced recently, such as the affair between Philip Schofield and his significantly younger coworker.
According to a source, the atmosphere is incredibly strained. Many people are simmering with anger because they believe that ‘This Morning’ is unfairly favored, even though it’s considered the least dynamic talk show among daytime shows.
It seems that programs like Loose Women and Lorraine are consistently maintaining strong viewership numbers, whereas This Morning frequently makes headlines due to declining ratings. Interestingly, Loose Women has also been recognized with awards.
Disregarding the Philip Schofield controversy and Holly Willoughby’s departure, it’s surprising that This Morning, which seems to be the outlier among shows, is not undergoing any reductions.
‘Everyone is absolutely furious that This Morning has got away with it yet again.’
According to a source, some veteran ITV presenters express concern that management might lean towards choosing younger talents for the remaining positions.
ITV has been contacted by TopMob for comment.
It has been disclosed to TopMob that Christine Lampard, aged 46, is concerned about the potential impact because she regularly hosts Lorraine during holidays and also moderates Loose Women. This means her annual workload could be at risk.

According to a TV insider, all the hosts at ITV are extremely concerned and upset after the recent announcement was made.
The shows form a significant portion of their income sources, so they share the same level of tension and frustration as the production team, who have been informed that approximately 300 jobs could be in jeopardy.
Specifically, Ruth, Kaye, Nadia, and Denise have been contacting the production team frantically, voicing their displeasure and outrage over ITV’s recent decision.
Lorraine is equally upset because her program has been reduced to only 30 minutes in length and will air for just 30 weeks annually, similar to Loose Women.
After spending numerous years on the channel, she finds it incredibly disrespectful that, despite Good Morning Britain maintaining its existing schedule and airing every day of the year, her show receives the same ratings.
A reduction in airtime for the shows ‘Loose Women’ and ‘Lorraine’ could significantly impact Christine Lampard, as she serves as anchor for both programs, making a substantial portion of her annual work dependent on their schedules.
TopMob recognizes that the lineup of Loose Women features more than 20 hosts, including Charlene White and Coleen Nolan, believes it’s likely that the network will be compelled to release long-standing talent who have been instrumental in the show’s creation over many years.
It’s thought that the younger panelists, such as ex-Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood (age 34) and influencer GK Barry (age 25), might have an edge in comparison to more seasoned celebrities like Janet Street-Porter (age 78) and Jane Moore (age 63).
An insider from Loose Women shared: ‘Currently, there are approximately 20 hosts on the show. Some of these, such as Ruth, Kaye, Nadia, Denise, Janet, and Jane, have contracts, while others like Myleene Klass and Sue Cleaver appear more occasionally.’
Juggling the demands of providing a fair number of appearances for each contributor while ensuring everyone’s satisfaction and keeping them visible as desired is quite a challenge at the moment.

The program will now only broadcast during 30 weeks annually, leading many employees to lose their jobs due to a limited number of shows available. Longtime presenters who have been part of the series for 25 years might find themselves being replaced from the panel as a result.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m excited to share some updates about Loose Women, a popular talk show that has been gracing our screens since 1999 on ITV. From the beginning of 2026, this beloved program will reduce its broadcasting schedule, airing only for 30 weeks throughout the year. I’m looking forward to seeing how they continue to deliver engaging content with this new format!
Over the past few months, the program has made efforts to attract a younger demographic by hiring Olivia, known for hosting her own dating show titled “Bad Boyfriends,” on our network. Additionally, in March, the series debuted its first podcast simultaneously on ITVX and YouTube.
Originally paired as co-hosts for This Morning alongside former spouse Eamonn Holmes up until 2021, Ruth has maintained a presence on the show from its inception, earning her the title of the longest-serving panel member.
