ITV’s “dark” psychological thriller “that keeps you hanging on” gets new UK streaming home

In the absence of sin, the gripping four-party thriller headlined by Vicky McClure previously aired on ITV, now has a fresh streaming platform as it’s available on Disney+.

In 2022, the show made its debut, being marketed as a “dramatic” production delving into the extreme measures taken by a mourning mother.

The movie “Without Sin” focuses on Stella, a taxi driver, who is grieving over the loss of her daughter, Maisy. After the man initially accused for Maisy’s murder, Charles Stone, declares his innocence, Stella embarks on an investigation to uncover the truth behind Maisy’s tragic death.

Discussing Frances Poletti’s script, McClure explained the reasons behind her attraction to the character of Stella.

When me and Johnny (Harris) listened to the idea that Fran had created, it resonated with the type of games we enjoy. It possesses a grim undertone, yet it’s also incredibly authentic and unrefined, she shared with The Big Issue.

The actor emphasized, “I believe curiosity is our most potent human feeling. Stella finds herself in a desperate situation because she’s lost her daughter. Regardless of whatever new information she might uncover, it won’t bring her child back. In this moment, she seems to have no clear objective. Her world has fallen apart. Yet, if there’s even a glimmer of hope for more answers, she yearns to know them, despite the expected pain.
