In the coming weeks, Netflix will be adding Fearless, a six-episode crime drama originally shown on ITV. The series features the work of the late Helen McCrory and Sir Michael Gambon.
Just letting you know, all the episodes are hitting Netflix on Monday, October 13th. But if you’re itching to watch *now*, it’s still up on ITVX. You can watch for free with ads, or go for their Premium tier if you want to skip them. I personally might binge it on Netflix, but it’s cool to have the option!
The show centers around a human rights lawyer who firmly believes a convicted murderer didn’t commit the crime he was found guilty of – specifically, the killing of a 14-year-old schoolgirl. She’s determined to prove his innocence and will do whatever it takes to do so.

In addition to McCrory and Gambon, the series features Catastrophe‘s Jonathan Forbes, Lovecraft Country‘s Wunmi Mosaku, and comedian John Bishop, who is taking on a dramatic acting part.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the show has a 73% positive rating from 15 reviews.

Wow, Helen McCrory as Emma was just incredible! I thought she perfectly played a woman who was clearly intelligent, practical, hilarious, and really relatable, as the Radio Times pointed out. And the story itself? It moved so quickly and was just packed with things happening – I couldn’t look away!
I was reading Den of Geek, and they hit the nail on the head about Fearless. It’s not just another crime show on ITV. Seriously, it’s way more than that – it’s a full-on political thriller that jumps across the Atlantic! Think spies, armed police going all-out, constant surveillance for terrorism, and the amazing Michael Gambon… oh, and a classic Volvo estate is in there too. It’s a really cool mix!
The New Statesman wrote: “What I love about Fearless is its messiness: Emma’s frantic and complicated life, and her relish for every single one of its constituent parts, feel so wonderfully replete. Even better, her character is exhilaratingly free from the wing-clipping flaws that writers of both sexes usually give to ‘strong’ but hard-pressed screen women.”

Even in a less positive review, Metro acknowledged that McCrory’s acting was “captivating”, but added that it was “the only noteworthy aspect of the show”.
The series wasn’t picked up for another season, and sadly, Helen McCrory passed away in April 2021.
Fearless comes to Netflix on 13 October, or is on ITVX now.
The new edition of Living Legends is here! Buy Gaga in newsagents or online, priced at just £8.99.
