ITV viewers ‘hooked and on the edge of their seats’ after just one episode of new drama – as all episodes drop just in time for weekend binge
As a devoted fan of gripping dramas, I can wholeheartedly say that the return of The Twelve has been a long-awaited and highly satisfying addition to my TV lineup. Having patiently waited for its arrival in the UK, I must admit that the wait was worth it.
Fans of ITV have shared their enthusiasm, admitting they can’t get enough, following the release of the first episode from a thrilling drama’s latest season on ITVX last Thursday.
The Australian television show, The Twelve, featuring Sam Neill, initially premiered on screens in the year 2022, marking its inaugural season. This season received instant praise from critics.
As a die-hard fan, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the return of that captivating courtroom drama, inspired by a Belgian mini series. Last month, it made its comeback in Australia, leaving me and fellow British fans in a state of anticipation as we ticked off each day on our calendars, anxiously waiting for the show to grace our screens across the pond.
After its airing on ITVX on Thursday, fans couldn’t help but express their enthusiasm on social media, and it’s clear that they are absolutely delighted!
They penned: ‘I love this Show! Brilliant Episode 1 & 2 of Season 2 of The Twelve
‘Sam Neill is as brilliant as ever in season 2 of The Twelve.’
I’m really enjoying binge-watching the first season from the UK, and I’m thrilled to hear there will be a second one!
‘I’ve been impatiently waiting for this to be aired in the UK. Series one was amazing!’
‘Watched the first ep Season 2 tonight and I am hooked again lol.’
Luckily for fans, the full series is now available to stream on ITVX.
In the first-person narrative, I find myself immersed in “Series One of The Twelve,” where I’m part of a group of twelve dedicated individuals, each grappling with personal hardships. Our collective task is momentous: to deliberate on the trial of a woman, standing accused of taking an innocent life – a child.
The main character is Sam, portraying barrister Brett Colby, who will once again take on his role from the Jurassic Park series in the upcoming second season.
In the second installment, starring Frances O’Connor, Tasma Walton, and Kris McQuade, we find Brett handling a fresh client case as he delves into yet another thrilling courtroom drama involving a murder.
In this instance, the investigation centers on the tragic demise of a prominent local landowner and revered community leader who was also a woman, with two former lovers facing charges for the alleged homicide.
Sam has shared some insights on the upcoming series, stating that the second season promises an even more powerful narrative compared to the first one, as reported by Radio Times.
He mentioned that this tale appears to be more captivating than the previous one, undeniably intriguing. It’s filled with unexpected twists, turns, and shocking revelations. It promises to keep you in suspense right up until the very end.
As a lover of storytelling who’s spent countless hours immersed in various narratives, I find this particular one to be incredibly relatable. It skillfully navigates between light-hearted humor and somber depth, making it an emotional rollercoaster that keeps me captivated from start to finish. The characters are richly developed, with performances that breathe life into them, and I find myself deeply invested in their journeys. In fact, I’ve found myself unable to look away, compelled to see how the story unfolds. It’s a testament to the power of great storytelling, and I highly recommend it for anyone seeking an engaging and thought-provoking viewing experience.
Last month, when Sam shared information about his health following a stage-three blood cancer diagnosis, it was then that the update came.
In a refreshing statement, the actor from Jurassic Park expresses his joy for simply being alive following a challenging round of treatments during the production of The Twelve in 2022.
He informed the Herald Sun that this meant he had to work every other week, which made weekends essentially off-limits due to the monotony.
‘But other than that, it’s great to be alive and working and in beautiful places, like York.’
