ITV announces new cast for crime drama including Charlotte Ritchie
As a seasoned gamer of both the small screen and the big one, I must say that the new cast additions for ITV’s “Code of Silence” have piqued my interest significantly! With a diverse and talented ensemble, this crime drama is shaping up to be an engaging watch.
ITV has announced new cast additions for upcoming crime drama Code of Silence.
Previously announced, the main character of a six-episode series is now being played by “Strictly Come Dancing” winner Rose Ayling-Ellis. She portrays Alison Woods, a Deaf individual who works in catering and uses her lip-reading abilities to assist police in solving a crime.
Charlotte Ritchie, who played both Ghosts and You, has been added to the cast in the role of Detective Sergeant Ashleigh Francis. Additionally confirmed are Kieron Moore, known for Vampire Academy, as the suspect Liam Bayne, and Andrew Buchan, a familiar face from Broadchurch, as Detective Inspector James Marsh.
Among the other performers are Nathan Armarkwei Laryea from “The Witcher,” Joe Absolom known for “Doc Martin,” Beth Goddard who starred in “The Serpent Queen,” Andrew Scarborough of “Emmerdale,” Rolf Choutan, a popular presenter, and Fifi Garfield, a familiar face from “Coffee Morning Club.
In my gaming world, the storyline I’m diving into right now is called “Code of Silence,” penned by Catherine Moulton in the game Hijack. As Alison, I find myself caught between a rock and a hard place, balancing two demanding jobs while standing as the pillar of strength for my Deaf mom Julie (Garfield).
Yet, she finds herself drawn into a critical police probe as Detective Sergeant Ashleigh Francis enlists her exceptional lip-reading abilities to keep tabs on a perilous criminal organization.
In the course of her analysis, Alison’s understanding of their hidden discussions takes center stage in the case, and she finds herself immersed in a thrilling, unfamiliar realm, as the narrative goes on.
As Alison’s part turns out to be crucial in solving the police mystery, her emotions get tangled when she develops feelings for one of the suspects, Liam Bayne. Yet, aware of the dangers and the potential damage to her private life, Alison finds herself unable to detach from him.
Previously discussing the project, Ayling-Ellis expressed: “Upon reading Catherine Moulton’s script, it was immediately clear that her personal experiences and insights have allowed her to create an authentic character. I felt compelled to become involved in this project.
I’m overjoyed that ITV shares our enthusiasm for making this happen, and I can hardly wait to dive into the project!
Code of Silence will air on ITV1 and ITVX.
