ITV announces huge daytime shake-up affecting This Morning and Lorraine – here’s what it means
In the gaming world of TV schedules, I’ve got some exciting news! It seems that ITV is shaking things up in their daytime lineup, and it looks like my favorite morning shows, “This Morning” and “Lorraine,” are part of this major overhaul. Can’t wait to see what changes they bring!
Starting January 2026, shows including “Loose Women,” among others, will be airing from a fresh central London location. ITV Studios has disclosed that they are negotiating to have these three unique programs, which share the same team for production, resource allocation, and operational efficiency.
Lorraine’s show will follow a 30-week seasonal rhythm, adjusting to the hosts’ workflow, and it will be on-air from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. The Loose Women program will resume its original schedule of running from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm over a 30-week period, while This Morning will remain broadcasted from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm.

Kevin Lygo, the Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, acknowledged that the plans we have would affect our Daytime production teams off camera. We will collaborate with ITV Studios and ITN as they adapt to these changes and produce shows differently starting next year. Moreover, we will be there to assist them during this transition period.
For more than four decades, daytime programming has been a fundamental part of ITV’s broadcasting plan. These modifications ensure that ITV can keep delivering top-tier news, opinions, and discussions to its viewers as we step into our eight decade.
Moving forward, “Good Morning Britain” is going through some adjustments in its broadcast timing. The show’s duration for each episode will extend by 30 minutes, meaning it will air from 6am to 9:30am. Moreover, when “Lorraine” isn’t on the schedule, the episodes of “Good Morning Britain” will be prolonged an additional 30 minutes.
Instead of the previous arrangement, the series will now be managed by a specialized ITV News team at ITN. The network has opted to merge its multiple national news teams into a single central office. This reorganization is expected to yield cost savings, which will be redirected towards other types of programming.
During the day, our work takes on significant importance, and these modifications in scheduling and production will empower us to keep broadcasting a timetable that offers viewers their favorite news, debates, and discussions presented by trusted hosts, as stated by Lygo.
These adjustments enable us not only to unify our news divisions but also to amplify our domestic, foreign, and local news content production. Moreover, this move empowers us to uphold our esteemed journalistic legacy, providing reliable, impartial news at a moment when our audience demands accurate reporting more urgently than ever.
