As a dedicated gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of crime-fighting dramas, I must say that this news about Chicago PD has left me reeling like a fish out of water on a stormy sea! It feels like they’ve snatched away my trusty sidekick, leaving me to face the villains alone until the New Year.
Tonight, Wednesday, November 27th, we’re excited to dive right into another episode of Chicago PD. However, I regret to inform you that there’s some unfortunate news about this evening’s episode and the remainder of 2024.
Tonight, there won’t be a fresh episode of “Chicago PD” or any repeat showing. Instead, NBC is airing some festive content in preparation for Thanksgiving. The evening kicks off with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade countdown and continues with a special “Saturday Night Live” episode to celebrate the holiday season.
Typically, we find Wednesdays just before Thanksgiving as a break from our usual routine. Lately, though, there’s been a regular season finale episode of Chicago PD that airs on this day. But not this year. NBC is returning to the old tradition of broadcasting the fall finale a week prior to Thanksgiving instead.
When is Chicago PD back with new episodes?
Last time out, my game took a turn as Torres grappled with the aftermath of his issues with Gloria, leaving us on a nail-biting edge. I’m finding myself in a tricky spot, hoping to strike up a friendship with Voight – but is this a sign he wants Voight to step over some moral lines? Now I can’t wait to see where this leads!
Unfortunately, there won’t be any more episodes of Chicago PD in 2024. However, good news is on the horizon! The series will resume with fresh episodes on Wednesday, January 8. As always, it will air at 10 p.m. ET/PT, following the new installments of other One Chicago shows.
What to expect when Chicago PD returns?
We have a promo for Chicago PD season 12, episode 9. It focuses on the case for Intelligence to deal with. Two girls have been kidnapped, and there is a random out for them. If the parents don’t pay the ransom in time, these girls are going to be killed. Voight will stop at nothing to save them. He’s not letting something happen to more kids on his watch.
In the promotional material, we don’t find any hints about what Reid is aiming for. It’s plausible that his intentions might not surface until several upcoming episodes. Considering this could be a long-term storyline, it makes sense that we only get glimpses of it now and then, instead of all the details being exposed at once.
Chicago PD returns on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 10/9c on NBC. Catch up the following day on Peacock.
