“It’s absolutely insane”: Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick’s “nuttier” sequel is a must-see thriller

Don’t miss the sequel starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, titled “Another Simple Favor“, that their co-stars have labeled as “more nutty” and “completely insane”. This thrilling movie is a must-watch!

On May 1st, the upcoming sequel to the 2018 film “A Simple Favour” will be available on Prime Video. In this new installment, Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively reprise their roles as Stephanie Smothers and Emily Nelson.

In this film, there’s a murder mystery intertwined with unexpected plot developments. It narrates the story of two individuals reconnecting on the picturesque island of Capri, where one of them is about to marry a prosperous Italian entrepreneur, named Emily.

At the recent UK premiere of Another Simple Favor, which I was fortunate enough to attend, Kendrick and Lively tantalizingly shared some behind-the-scenes insights about the eagerly anticipated sequel.

In simpler terms, Kendrick stated that the sequel to the first movie seemed almost unbelievably good, as if it were too good to be true. This was because, over a period of a couple of years, he had been reading script after script that grew increasingly bizarre and outrageous. By the time they actually began shooting, it felt like they had reached the ultimate version of what they started with.

She went on to say: “I had many sticky notes detailing the scenes and characters, and since the first one was quite puzzling, for the second one, I decided to be well-prepared, ensuring that I knew what I knew at which scenes.

During her character’s transformation, Lively stated: “Prison proved beneficial for Emily. She no longer confines herself to wearing only pants, marking a significant change in her. Initially, we perceived Emily as someone who constantly hid, and she crafted a persona to vanish. In the initial movie, she was seen as a person concealing herself.

This character is no longer defined by her pantsuit – it’s become quite distinctive – and she seems to be moving away from it. Her new wardrobe choices lend a sense of trust, as if we’re seeing more of who she truly is… or perhaps there’s still something hidden.

Speaking candidly about his initial encounter with the script, actor Henry Golding (portraying Sean Townsend), expressed, “While reading it, I found myself thinking, ‘This is utterly bizarre.’ Yet, I adore it. It’s an exhilarating journey.

Another Simple Favour will stream on Prime Video on 1 May.
