It’s a Wonderful Life is on TV today to get you in the Christmas mood

As a seasoned gamer who’s seen more movies than I’ve cleared levels in my lifetime, let me tell you, the annual viewing of “It’s a Wonderful Life” is as essential as my yearly raid on Azeroth or defeating Bowser in Mario Kart. This timeless classic has been part of my holiday traditions since I first discovered the joys of streaming in the dark ages of VHS tapes.

It’s basically Christmas now, and if you haven’t had your annual rewatch of festive classic It’s a Wonderful Life, then now’s your chance.

If you’d like to catch “It’s a Wonderful Life” before finishing up your holiday wrapping, tune in to ITV1 this afternoon (December 24) at 2:30 PM as it airs then.

Don’t fret if you can’t catch it today, as there are rebroadcasts scheduled for December 25: at 3.50 am on ITV1 (in case the kids wake you up early), or at 12.25 pm on ITV3 later in the day.

Currently, if you prefer an ad-free experience, the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” can be streamed instantly on Amazon Prime Video, accessible to all its subscribers.

It’s possible that even if you’ve watched “It’s a Wonderful Life” multiple times, you may not be aware of its rather somber background story that seems to have been overlooked by many.

Initially premiered in 1946, the film faced such a massive failure that its production company, Liberty Films, was forced to shut down, effectively marking the end of director Frank Capra’s career, although today it is recognized as an everlasting cinematic masterpiece.

It’s a Wonderful Life airs today (December 24) at 2.30pm on ITV1.
