It Takes Two is back! Strictly spin-off confirms return date on BBC2 with exciting presenter shake-up after
As a lifestyle expert with over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I can confidently say that the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing is set to be an unparalleled spectacle of talent, glamour, and camaraderie. The return of It Takes Two, featuring the dynamic duo Janette Manrara and Fleur East, promises a delightful blend of behind-the-scenes insights, unforgettable performances, and a dash of the Strictly magic we’ve all grown to love.
Janette Manrara and Fleur East will team up, as it’s announced that It Takes Two is coming back to BBC Two, promising a peek into the exciting backstage world of Strictly Come Dancing, including its glitz, glamour, and juicy insider news, starting next week.
In the 20th series, Fleur East, an X Factor alumna who temporarily stepped into hosting duties while Janette was on maternity leave after welcoming her first baby, will team up with a former dance pro to present the offshoot program.
On Monday, the 23rd of September, I’ll be joining Fleur and Janette as we delve into an exceptional dancing competition. The performances promised are ones that won’t easily be forgotten.
In conversation about collaborating with Fleur, Janette expressed: “It’s truly an honor for me to co-host It Takes Two with Fleur. She’s simply fantastic to work alongside. Moreover, I must say Strictly Come Dancing is the finest television program out there.
For me, as a dancer, receiving such admiration from the crowd and followers feels incredibly humbling.
‘Fleur and I are so, so, so alike. And the more we hang out and spend time together, the more we start finding things that make us similar.
It seems to me that we’re essentially two sides of the same coin – figuratively sharing the same essence. Regardless if it’s Fleur or myself, you can expect a comparable performance due to our striking resemblance in many aspects.
“To put it another way, we’re equally eccentric and intelligent. We’re both highly motivated individuals who share a passion for our work and for ‘Strictly’, don’t we?
As a fellow Scorpio bursting with enthusiasm, I can relate! We may strive for composure, yet our passion is hard to contain. Laughter, it seems, is the inevitable result whenever we’re in each other’s company.
Janette, who’s danced with Strictly for 11 years now, expressed her hope that the show might last another 20 years.
She said: ‘I’m really hoping we get 20 more years of the same! For me, being part of the show for, I think, 11 years now, it’s been the most magical 11 years of my life.
‘Continuing to revel in the joy of dancing, witnessing the delight on people’s faces as they master a new move or perfect a routine, and encountering fans of the performance expressing their admiration with phrases like “Oh my god, I loved that dance” or “I was captivated when such-and-such occurred,” these moments are truly unique.’
On weekends, the long-standing favorite show made a comeback, stirring discussions due to a significant controversy, while also taking an unexpected NTA award during its 20th anniversary celebration.
2021 Olympic swimming champion Tom Dean is set to compete alongside professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova, while popular musician Toyah Willcox teams up with returning dancer Neil Jones in this season’s lineup.
Amy Dowden, victoriously back on the show after her fight against breast cancer, is set to dance alongside JB Gill from JLS in this upcoming season.
As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement! It’s me, jumping up and down in anticipation as Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas take to the dancefloor together! And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Gladiators star Montell Douglas will be going head-to-head with Johannes Radebe. This is going to be a showdown for the ages, and I simply can’t wait!
Karen Hauer is teamed with former footballer Paul Merson, while reality TV personality Pete Wicks is partnered with Jowitza Przysta. (for a dance competition)
Luba Mushtuk will be leading Nick Knowles step by step as they work together on DIY SOS, while Sam Quek is partnered with Nikita Kuzmin and Chris McCausland is paired with Diane Buswell for their tasks.
Television viewers primarily recognize opera singer Wynne Evans from the GoCompare commercials. He, along with dance partner Katya Jones, are among the contestants. Rounding out the group is Shayne Ward, a former X Factor winner, and his professional partner Nancy Xu.
Strictly it Takes Two will air every weekday at 6.30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
