It Ends With Us writer responds to Ryan Reynolds’ involvement

As a dedicated reader of Christy Hall’s heart-wrenching masterpiece, “It Ends With Us,” I find myself deeply moved by her gracious response to Ryan Reynolds‘ clandestine contributions to the film adaptation. As a writer who has penned stories that have touched countless hearts, I can only imagine the thrill of seeing my words brought to life on the silver screen. Yet, it seems even more magical when those words are subtly enriched by the creative genius of another artist, like Ryan Reynolds.

Author Christy Hall has addressed Ryan Reynolds’ participation in shaping the dialogue for the movie adaptation of “It Ends With Us.”

A few days ago, it was unveiled that star Blake Lively had been keeping a secret: her husband had penned parts of the script for the Colleen Hoover adaptation, focusing particularly on the iconic rooftop scene. She disclosed that not even those outside their couple circle were aware he was the hidden author until she made it public.

In conversation with folks, Hall mentioned: “I believe there were a few minor details that seemed to be spontaneous. For instance, when he says, ‘Could you pretty please, with a cherry on top?’, and she brings up the maraschino cherries.”

“Upon noticing a scratch, I thought it was adorable and seemed like an impromptu touch. If I’m informed that Ryan penned it, then fantastic, what a delightful surprise.”

“I noticed some small additional touches in the scene that weren’t part of my original script, but I believe they were created spontaneously during filming. However, the crucial moments I wanted to emphasize are still present, and for that, I appreciate the scene and feel proud of it. If those extra details came from Ryan, then I think that’s terrific.”

As a gamer, I often find myself wondering if the hilarious scene set to ‘With Arms Wide Open’ by Creed might have been penned by none other than Ryan Reynolds himself. After all, it felt so spontaneous and witty, I couldn’t help but think he might have improvised those lines!

“I’m wondering if you could tell me the origin of that scene, as it was one of my favorites. It provided just the right amount of humor at a needed moment, and it’s a memory I cherish. In fact, it stands out as one of the most memorable moments for me, that I adore.”

It Ends With Us is out in cinemas now.
