Isla Fisher shares a savage statement about marriage following divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen
In recent weeks, following the finalization of her divorce with former spouse Sacha Baron Cohen, Isla Fisher has made a surprising comment regarding the institution of marriage.
On Wednesday, the Australian actress, aged 48, openly posted a candid statement about contemporary relationships on Instagram.
Isla fired off a cheeky take on an age-old saying – and turned it completely on its head.
In a modern take on the old saying, “Why spend money on something you can get for free?”, let me share some fresh insights with you.
Currently, about eight out of ten women express opposition to marriage. One reason could be that they feel it’s disproportionate to invest significantly (buying the whole pig) for a small return (getting a small sausage).

The sharp comment seemed to make a subtle criticism of Cohen, who is 53, as he was the one Isla divorced last year after being married for 14 years.
A few days ago, Isla playfully jabbed at her former partner again, following their sighting together at a tennis match in England during Wimbledon.
At the high-profile gathering that took place recently, she and Sacha successfully avoided any uncomfortable encounters or misunderstandings. This was approximately a month following their official completion of their expensive divorce settlement on June 14th.
Isla clearly demonstrated that their co-parenting relationship remained cordial, as she jokingly made a funny remark about it.
By posting a screenshot from an article on TopMob, the Australian actress casually mentioned and humorously questioned Sacha Baron Cohen about who was taking care of their children, as she tagged him, saying: “Hey, isn’t someone supposed to be watching the kids? @sachabaroncohen
In 2001, this pair first crossed paths, and they got married in 2010. They were blessed with three kids over the course of their marriage. Last year, they revealed their decision to separate in 2023.
Interestingly enough, they chose to declare their split through the sport of tennis, sharing a picture of them both dressed in identical tennis attire.
In April 2024, they shared a photograph on both their Instagram Stories, announcing their separation with this caption: “Following a lengthy tennis game spanning over two decades, it’s time for us to lay down our rackets.

Last month, their divorces were officially finalized, as both parties also made the same announcement on their respective Instagram accounts at the same time.
‘Our divorce is now officially completed. Despite this change, we are extremely proud of everything we accomplished together and maintain a deep respect for each other. As friends, we will work closely as co-parents, nurturing our amazing kids. We kindly request the media to uphold the privacy of our children.’
After the declaration, it was mentioned that Sacha and Isla are keen to move forward and prioritize their family’s welfare, as everything appears to be resolved.
Earlier this year, when discussing their separation, Isla expressed: “This has been the hardest experience for me, but I’ve also discovered a lot about myself along the way.
‘I never imagined my family being separated but we are committed and loving parents.’
