Isla Fisher has shared that she’s been going through a difficult period following her separation from Sacha Baron Cohen.
The 49-year-old Australian actress appears in a glamorous photoshoot for NewBeauty magazine. In a recent interview, she shared how she’s been focusing on rediscovering herself after her divorce.
Isla and Sacha revealed in late 2023 that they were ending their 14-year marriage, and their divorce was finalized this June.
The actress, a mother of three, has said she’s used the past two years since her breakup to concentrate on her career and personal well-being. However, her ex-partner, Sacha, has taken a very different approach to being single.

On Friday, the actor was photographed with 26-year-old social media personality Kelsey Calemine, who is 28 years younger than him.
Isla recently told NewBeauty that going through a divorce has been incredibly difficult. She explained that there’s a unique understanding among those who’ve been divorced – a shared grief that others can’t quite grasp.
Isla brightened up and shared, ‘I actually think it’s exciting to reinvent yourself after a divorce. It’s a chance to think about what’s really important to you, try new things, and build the life you want.’
She explained that she’s enjoying having the headspace and time to focus on herself.
It’s similar to rediscovering hobbies you enjoyed as a child, things you had to put aside while focusing on raising a family.
When you focus on a marriage, other important relationships – long-standing friendships and supportive connections – sometimes take a backseat. It’s wonderful when those relationships have a chance to become central again, and it’s something to really look forward to.
Going through this has actually been a good thing in a lot of ways. I’ve had time to really understand myself better and learned to be kinder to myself, which is all I’m aiming for – just giving myself the understanding and compassion I deserve.
Isla is busy with her work too, currently promoting the new ‘Now You See Me’ movie, which comes out this week.
I’m so excited because she has four new movies coming out, either this year or next! It’s going to be her most packed schedule since 2016, when she was in ‘Keeping Up with the Joneses,’ ‘Nocturnal Animals,’ and ‘Grimsby’ – all around the same time as when she was with Sacha. I can’t wait to see them all!
This morning, I was honestly feeling totally overwhelmed. It just hit me all at once! But then I had to take a step back and remind myself how lucky I am to be where I am in my career and life. It really helps to focus on the good things, you know?
Isla recently shared that she’s not planning on dating again for the foreseeable future, following her divorce.
She told The Sunday Times that dealing with that wasn’t something she was prepared for right now. She explained that her own parents’ separation when she was nine shaped her, and she now hopes to achieve the same peaceful co-parenting arrangement they had.
Recently, Sacha has been seen with two younger models. He was photographed with influencer Kelsey, who looks a lot like Kylie Jenner, early Friday morning.
The Sun reports that Sacha was at the club for two hours, from 1am to 3am, and chatted with Kelsey after she left with a friend.
The pair were photographed talking, and then Sacha gave her his phone so she could save her number. They then went their separate ways in Ubers.
According to a witness, Sacha Baron Cohen arrived at a recently opened, exclusive Hollywood nightclub around 1:00 AM without any security.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe what I saw! He was totally checking Kelsey out, just staring at her from across the room. Then, he actually went over and started talking to her! Someone told me he was laying on the charm inside, seriously flirting with her. And then outside? Forget about it! They were all over each other, laughing and being so flirty – they couldn’t stop! It was… everything.
When her Uber arrived, he walked over and handed her his phone – it had a pink case – so she could enter her phone number.
A friend of Sacha dismissed the photos, explaining to the Daily Mail that it was just a casual encounter with someone he met while leaving the club.
They had a short conversation and then went their separate ways, with no further contact.
