Isla Fisher opens up about her ‘tough’ divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen: ‘I’m trying to remind myself of my new identity’

Isla Fisher has spoken out about the ‘tough’ end of her decade-long marriage to Sacha Baron Cohen. 

At the close of 2023, the Australian actress, aged 49, and the man behind Borat, aged 53 (who are parents to three kids), decided to part ways following 14 years of being married.

The actor from The Wedding Crashers recently shared with Harper’s Bazaar that he endured a challenging period during their divorce, but he’s eagerly looking forward to the future.

She shared with the outlet that she’s faced some challenging times recently, but she’s persevering. She’s also looking forward to what lies ahead in her future.

I’m shifting my attention back towards my professional life as I had been largely devoted to my children before, and although they remain my deepest affection, I find myself re-engaging with work once more and finding it enjoyable.

In addition to concentrating on her profession, Isla is also working on defining herself independently, beyond her marital relationship with Sacha.

She expressed that she is making an effort to recall her fresh self-image, being independent from a relationship, and maintaining a positive outlook as much as she can.

It was a similar sentiment the former Home and Away star shared with Stellar in March.

She went on to say, “I’m making a conscious effort to prioritize my professional growth, an area I’ve neglected for quite some time.

‘I always put motherhood first but everyone’s a lot older now.

Of course, my children will always hold the top priority – that’s how most parents feel – but it’s also rewarding to return to work and feel appreciated or make a significant contribution to the arts in a personally fulfilling manner.

Without a doubt, Isla has been quite busy lately, appearing in hit shows like “Wolf Like Me” on Stan’s supernatural platform, as well as movies such as “Dog Man” and “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.
