Is this the winner of The Block? Teary couple’s emotional reaction hints at huge auction shock as houses go under the hammer

Auction day on The Block has gone off with a bang.

The contestants on The Block all arrived in the Victorian town of Daylesford on Saturday to begin work on the show.

All five teams were onsite for their auctions, alongside Shelley Craft, Scott Cam and Marty Fox.

But one duo appeared very emotional as they left their property after the bidding.

After the auction, Britt and Taz hugged and both began to cry.

Their positive reaction has hinted they could be the winners of this year’s season.

Britt made a glamorous entrance to her property on auction day, wearing a long, sparkling gold dress before the bidding began.

Emma and Ben happily joined the group, walking side-by-side with beaming smiles.

Emma left little to the imagination in a revealing backless dress as she waved to fans.

Matt and Robby also looked dapper and appeared nervous as they waited for the final results.

Han, Can, Sonny, and Alicia were also seen at the location, using umbrellas as they walked home.

Fans expecting to see Adrian Portelli at the upcoming Block finale will likely be disappointed, as he won’t be making an appearance.

As potential buyers gathered at the property in the country town, Adrian arrived in Sydney by private jet, having traveled over 800 kilometers.

In 2024, he became known on TV for buying all five properties on the renovation show located on Phillip Island, spending over $15 million in the process.

A potential buyer for Block, who previously caused controversy, announced earlier this year that he wouldn’t pursue the deal, leading to rumors that he had been rejected by the company.

Scott Cam opened up about rumours surrounding Adrian being banned from the show earlier this month.

Scott clarified on the Fifi, Fev and Nick show that they didn’t ban Adrian, and that he was the one who made that claim.

Scott explained that because it was a public auction, anyone could attend. They had simply suggested to the previous bidder, who had been successful in past auctions, that they step aside and allow some families the opportunity to purchase the properties.

Before the upcoming auction, contestants from The Block shared their opinions with Daily Mail about Adrian’s decision not to attend Nine’s recent Upfronts event.

Emma and Ben didn’t seem to agree on what was happening. Ben felt the person they were waiting for likely wouldn’t arrive, and he thought that was unfortunate for everyone involved.

Emma disagreed, pointing out that she thought it was a positive development because it could inspire others.

It was a similar sentiment shared by Robby and Mat, who welcomed a more open auction field.

‘It opens the door for bigger and better players,’ Mat said.

Sonny and Alicia, meanwhile, took a more laissez-faire approach to the situation.

‘They’ve just asked to keep it open for everybody,’ Alicia said.

‘He’ll do whatever he wants and I’m sure he’d be welcomed if he came.’

Sonny added: ‘If he was to show up and buy someone’s house, so be it.’
