Is there (and should there be) a Tell Me Lies season 3 on Hulu?
As a devoted fan of Tell Me Lies, I can confidently say that season 2 has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions, twists, and turns that have kept me on the edge of my seat. The cliffhanger ending has left me yearning for more, and I’m eagerly awaiting news of a potential season 3.
The moment we’ve all been apprehensive about while enjoying “Tell Me Lies” season 2 has arrived, and that is the reality that the season has concluded, and let me tell you, what an exhilarating finale! This inevitably sparks speculation about whether the series will continue. I’m also here to discuss if it ought to do so.
Currently, the status of “Tell Me Lies” on Hulu remains undecided – neither renewed nor canceled. This means we don’t know yet if there will be a Season 3. We might hear something soon, or it could take a while. The final decision rests with the streamer, and we hope they won’t keep us waiting too long. Companies often base their decisions on viewership ratings and production costs, so those factors are worth considering.
Regarding the creative team, it seems that showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer is eagerly ready for another installment and hopes to explore a potential third season of “Tell Me Lies”. This is what she expressed when she spoke with DC Film Girl during their interview.
“There are a lot of ideas of what could happen. I think that certain characters definitely deserve justice that I think needs to happen if there’s a season 3. I think there’s always more story to tell.”
Should a Tell Me Lies season 3 happen?
We can confidently say she’s correct given how the second season concluded! Let’s dive into the chaos surrounding Lucy and Stephen. In the current timeline, they’re involved romantically, while in the past, it appears they’ve reconciled. Despite this, Stephen remains just as arrogant, notably by sending that audio file to Bree just before she was supposed to recite her vows to Evan.
Like, how petty could you be to have held onto file for all these years Stephen? Your friend was honest and felt so guilty about it. And it’s not like you’re an angel. Ugh, I can’t stand this man. Overall, I think a Tell Me Lies season 3 would be interesting and there is still more story to tell as the showrunner shared.
It seems intriguing to explore further the evolution of Pippa and Diana’s relationship, which might also provide Wrigley with additional depth, as hinted at in the final episode. Instead of always portraying him as jovial, I’d prefer to witness a more serious side of his character. Following Drew’s death, and considering his partial responsibility, I believe this development could very well occur.
Although their tumultuous relationship filled with drama and toxicity might be problematic, let’s face it – Stephen and Lucy are the primary reason we tune in to this series. We can’t help but be drawn into their dysfunctional romance, eagerly anticipating the next twist or turn. Given the complex choices they’ve made throughout their past and present, there’s certainly potential for their characters to evolve further. So, what do you say? Are you intrigued by the prospect of a third season of “Tell Me Lies”?
Both seasons of Tell Me Lies are streaming on Hulu.
