Is the EA SPORTS FC 25 Ultimate Edition worth it?
As a seasoned football game enthusiast who has been playing these games for over a decade, I must say that the decision to buy the FC 25 Ultimate Edition is indeed a matter of personal preference and gaming habits.
Is the FC 25 Ultimate Edition worth the extra money?
Similar to FC 24, there are two versions of EA SPORTS FC 25 available: the regular and the Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition comes with a £30 / $30 premium over the standard version, which is approximately the price of an entire game in the past.
Here’s my spin on it, written from a fan perspective:
What is the difference between Ultimate and Standard editions of EA SPORTS FC 25?
As a dedicated fan, I’ve noticed some significant distinctions between the Standard and Ultimate Editions of EA SPORTS FC 25. Yet, it’s important to clarify that not every difference may sway you to shell out more money. In essence, there are merely two substantial advantages that could persuade you.
This week marks the Early Access period, and the game includes 4600 (3850 on Nintendo Switch) Friendship Coins Points. You can buy additional 5900 FC points for approximately £40 / $40. Therefore, you’re essentially getting around £30 / $30 worth of coins with the Ultimate Edition purchase.
With the early access week included, the FC 25 Ultimate Edition appears to be an increasingly attractive deal if you’re a player who was planning to invest in FC points anyway.

To put it in my own words as an avid gamer, both versions offer similar gaming experiences with identical modes, gameplay, and fantastic music. However, the Ultimate Edition offers the perk of early access, which could significantly boost your team’s strength in the Ultimate Team mode, giving you a strategic advantage over opponents.
Is the EA FC 25 Ultimate Edition worth it?
In summary, the Ultimate Edition offers good value for money. If you are a dedicated FIFA Ultimate Team player looking to gain an advantage, spending an additional £30 / $30 is worth it due to the benefits provided. Notable features of this edition include:
- Seven days early access can let you build your team before others can even play the game
- 4600 FC Points is worth about £30 / $30, so a good start to your season
- The Rush Rewards will also give you a nice boost in that mode
If you haven’t played Ultimate Team yet, it might be wise to skip the Ultimate Edition. While it could stir up some envy seeing others play early, you’ll find yourself a little wealthier instead.
The EASPORTS FC 25 Ultimate Edition Early access starts on September 20.
