Is Nip/Tuck cursed? All the scandals and tragedies that happened to the cast – after Julian McMahon’s co-star was involved in a serious car accident

From its pilot airing in 2003 until its final episode and 100th episode in 2010, Nip/Tuck held fans captivated, significantly boosting the international fame of its leading actors.

In another phrasing, it was previously mentioned that actors Julian McMahon and Dylan Walsh, who are prominently featured in the American television series, were each reportedly paid around $3 million per year for their performances on the show.

Fifteen years after the series finale, whispers suggest that the cast members of the popular medical drama may not have enjoyed as much prosperity as their on-screen success suggested.

Over time, the Nip/Tuck team has experienced an unusual amount of personal misfortune and controversy, ranging from unfortunate family incidents to enigmatic deaths that remain a mystery.

Lately, a celebrity was apprehended following an unfortunate incident where he collided with his vehicle in a severe crash, landing him on the unfavorable side of the legal system.

Let’s delve more deeply into the extensive list of debates that have arisen since the groundbreaking TV series, which shattered previous cable viewing records upon its premiere.

Joely Richardson

Joely Richardson, 60, has had a long career filled with tragedy and scandal.

At the age of 24, there were allegations that she was involved romantically with a much older Scottish entrepreneur named Archie Stirling, who was not only married but also tied with actress Diana Rigg.

Over time, the duo developed an exceptionally tight bond that eventually morphed into a romantic relationship, shortly following his separation from his spouse. However, a mere year passed before Archie severed ties with the acting aristocracy, rekindling his connection with Diana and their child. Regrettably, this reunion paved the way for yet another disintegration of their marriage.

In 1992, Joely tied the knot with film producer Tim Bevan. They had a single child, Daisy, born the same year. However, their marriage ended in divorce by 2001.

In the year 2006, she revealed that she was stepping down from her prosperous position in the series ‘Nip/Tuck’ to take care of her daughter, who suffered from a unique genetic circulatory disorder that impacted her legs.

However, it became apparent that Joely felt compelled to continue on the hit series due to fear of missing out on professional advancements in Hollywood.

From 2003’s pilot episode all the way through to the series end in 2010, she portrayed Julia McNamara in every single installment of the show.

However, her misfortune continued when her sister, Natasha Richardson, unexpectedly passed away in 2009 due to complications from a skiing accident.

45-year-old actress who was famously known for “The Parent Trap” tragically passed away two days following an accident where she sustained a head injury during a beginner’s skiing lesson at the Mont Tremblant ski resort located in Canada.

In the unfortunate event of an accident, I found myself swiftly transported via air ambulance to a hospital in New York City. Upon my arrival, I was immediately placed under intensive care with life-sustaining medical support due to sudden illness.

Natasha passed away, surrounded by her loving husband Liam Neeson, following the difficult choice made by her family to discontinue life support.

Later on, Joely looked back at the unfortunate series of events, sharing that she found herself attending her sister’s funeral wearing her shoes since she hastily went to support Natasha in those final moments.

She admitted that they hadn’t anticipated it would be their last moment… In a hurry, she snatched a small travel bag and boarded a flight bound for New York… She was unprepared as she had no clothing or possessions with her.

Dylan Walsh

Recently, Dylan Walsh, aged 61, became a topic of news after getting embroiled in a severe automobile mishap during the past few days.

In a turn of events, the actor known for his role as Dr. Sean McNamara in Nip/Tuck, was issued several traffic citations following an incident where he veered off his lane in New Jersey, colliding with two power poles.

The Daily Mail verifies that Dylan was behind the wheel when a car carrying five people collided.

As Dylan was driving north on East River Road, he abruptly veered into the southbound lanes, collided with a utility pole, and kept moving northwards, according to the police report.

In the afternoon around 5 pm, an incident occurred where a 2022 Ford Explorer vehicle struck a utility pole. This single-vehicle accident was severe enough to warrant the arrival of emergency response teams.

The Rumson Police Department announced that Dylan received multiple traffic violation tickets.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d like to share an unfortunate incident that occurred recently. During a journey, I found myself involved in an accident where my vehicle sustained damage. Two of my fellow travelers experienced discomfort and were promptly escorted to Riverview Medical Center for thorough examination and treatment, as per the local authorities’ reports. I hope they recover soon and wish them a speedy and comfortable journey towards wellness.

At the time of the accident, both Leslie Bourque-Walsh, the actor’s spouse, and an additional adult woman were present, along with two minors.

Dylan’s representative announced that due to a stroke, the actor from Nip/Tuck had lost control, resulting in a car accident.

In a recent report to TMZ, it was disclosed that the actor was found with open cans of White Claw Hard Seltzer in his vehicle, just before he collided with two utility poles. The news broke amidst other reports about this incident.

On August 17th, I confessed to the authorities at the scene that I had been making my way home, having recently left a bar where I’d enjoyed some alcoholic beverages. This information was made public in an official report.

Dylan’s representative stated that he did consume some alcohol before getting behind the wheel, but they reported that a hospital blood test showed his alcohol level was below the legal limit. Interestingly, it was Dylan’s passengers who were consuming White Claws in the vehicle instead.

Julian McMahon

56-year-old actor Julian McMahon passed away from cancer in Florida on July 2, leaving the entertainment industry in grief.

For several weeks, the news was dominated by his passing, with the controversy surrounding his death certificate adding even more intrigue to the story, as it cast doubt on the events leading up to his demise.

The actor hails from a privileged background, being the son of the former Australian Prime Minister Sir William McMahon and a prominent figure in Sydney’s high society, Lady Sonia McMahon.

Instead, Yet, the actor known for his role as Dr. Christian Troy on Nip/Tuck, was bid farewell in a rather solitary manner at an unremarkable crematorium.

Following his passing at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida, which is famed for its association with Scientologists, the cremation was carried out at an industrial site situated on the US East Coast.

Julian was cremated at Eternal Cremations, a modest, locally owned funeral home situated in the neighboring town of Dunedin.

Tucked amidst a bustling thoroughfare, surrounded by a shopping center and a gas station, you’ll find this modest crematorium – a stark contrast to the vast wealth that Julian once possessed, which went unnoticed from its exterior.

A representative from Eternal Cremations stated that they were not involved in the funeral arrangements for Julian, and furthermore, they asserted that no funeral service was held for him at all.

There is uncertainty regarding whether or not Julian’s daughter, Madison (who is 25 and was born to him along with Baywatch actress Brooke Burns), was present at his cremation ceremony.

Ryan Murphy

As a die-hard admirer, let me share that at 59, it’s none other than the brilliant Ryan Murphy who masterminded the captivating series Nip/Tuck. His genius sprang from immersive conversations with plastic surgeons he interviewed during his journalistic career, transforming real-life encounters into a mesmerizing television experience.

The renowned television series author and director has garnered numerous accolades throughout his career for hit shows such as Glee, American Horror Story, and Pose.

But he’s also had his fair share of controversy throughout his incredibly successful career.

Throughout the duration of his hit TV show Glee (from 2009 to 2015), Ryan found himself embroiled in a series of controversies related to the show.

Among the main actors, Lea Michele faced accusations of bullying on set, which she subsequently apologized for both publicly and privately to her co-stars. Tragically, Cory Monteith passed away at the age of 31 due to an unintentional drug overdose in 2013.

2015 marked the end of the show for Mark Salling, who tragically took his own life in 2018, and Naya Rivera, unfortunately, passed away due to an accidental drowning in 2020.

After Naya passed away, Ryan disclosed that he was coordinating the setup of a college fund for her child, Josey – a commitment which Naya’s father, George Rivera, alleged had not been kept previously.

Following George’s public criticism of Ryan, the producer retaliated by disclosing that they had been corresponding with Naya’s estate administrators to establish a charitable fund.

In 2022, Ryan’s Netflix series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story stirred up debate and caused a bit of a stir as well.

Critics, including some real-life relatives of Dahmer’s victims, voiced disapproval against the widely watched series, claiming it distorted historical facts by exaggerating the reality.

In 2023, Ryan found himself under scrutiny when it was alleged that he continued production on American Horror Story season 12 despite ongoing strikes by SAG-AFTRA and WGA unions.

After facing criticism, he initiated a fund worth half a million dollars to aid both former and present celebrities involved in his productions during their strike.

or

Facing public outrage, he established a $500,000 fund to assist the actors and crew members of his projects who were participating in a strike.

or

Following the uproar, he started a fund worth $500,000 to support the cast and crew working on his productions during their strike period.

All these paraphrases convey the same meaning as the original sentence while maintaining clarity and being easy to read.

Brad Falchuk

Brad Falchuk, age 54, served as both writer and executive producer on the show Nip/Tuck. During this period, he developed a strong friendship with Ryan Murphy, his colleague over those years.

The author achieves similar levels of fame as Ryan does, yet keeps their private life discreet, successfully steering clear of scandals even while married to the outspoken Gwyneth Paltrow.

In the year 2008, while engaged in work for Nip/Tuck, Brad experienced a severe health issue that almost resulted in paralysis.

One morning, it was reported that he woke up experiencing numbness in his left arm. An MRI scan later confirmed the presence of a tumor on his spinal cord.

Thankfully, Brad was able to quickly undergo surgery, but it wasn’t without fear for his health.

At that moment, there were fears that if the surgery didn’t succeed, he might end up permanently immobilized or even lose his life.

Vanessa Redgrave

Vanessa Redgrave, aged 88, is a renowned English actress and political activist, known for her ongoing portrayal of Erica Noughton – a self-centered character who is Julia McNamara’s mother in certain roles.

She is also the real life mother of Joely Richardson, who played her on-screen daughter Julia.

Just like her daughter, Vanessa has spent several decades navigating through both personal and professional challenges, many of which are associated with her role as an activist.

For a period of about 14 months between 2009 and 2012, Vanessa endured the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, Natasha, as well as her two younger siblings.

Or,

Vanessa experienced the sorrowful loss of her daughter, Natasha, along with her two younger siblings over a time frame of approximately 14 months from 2009 to 2012.

Both sentences convey the same meaning but offer slight variations in sentence structure for readability and flow.

Natasha died in 2009 from a traumatic brain injury caused by a skiing accident.

The next year saw the tragic passing of her younger brother, Corin, on April 6th. He had been fighting prostate cancer for many years.

Or:

In the subsequent year, it was Corin, her younger brother, who lost his life on April 6th after a long battle against prostate cancer.

Both sentences maintain clarity and are easy to understand while offering a slight change in wording to avoid repetition.

Her younger sister, Lynn, then died less than a month later on May 2 of breast cancer.

In the year 2015, Vanessa experienced health complications; she endured a serious heart attack in April, narrowly escaping fatal consequences, and later disclosed her battles with emphysema in September.

Apart from enduring personal hardships such as losing dear ones and facing health challenges, Vanessa has largely found success in her acting and advocacy roles.

Or:

Vanessa has experienced great professional triumphs as an actress and activist, despite dealing with the heart-wrenching loss of loved ones and health difficulties.

In 1978, she came very close to losing everything due to strong criticism that arose after her Oscar speech, where she employed the term ‘Zionist hoodlums’.

In her address, she praised the Academy for not yielding to a group of individuals, whom some labeled as aggressive Zionists, who attempted to criticize her for creating a documentary on Palestine.

As an ardent supporter, I’m eager to share that my remarks were aimed squarely at the radical members of the Jewish Defense League. To cap off my address, I made a heartfelt pledge: a commitment to wage relentless war against antisemitism and fascism, standing tall against the forces that threaten our community and values.

Nonetheless, the harm had already been inflicted, and it’s commonly believed that Vanessa’s career experienced a temporary halt after the comment.

Famke Janssen

Famke Janssen, 60, had a recurring role as Ava Moore, primarily in the second season of Nip/Tuck.

In 2013, the Dutch actress created a stir when she reported a break-in at her Manhattan apartment by contacting the police.

I overheard that a children’s book titled “The Lonely Doll” was found on a shelf next to my bed, but let me clarify, it isn’t mine. I assure you, I haven’t allowed anyone access to my penthouse, so the book wasn’t left there by me.

Despite no evidence of a forced entry being found, the authorities reported to The New York Post that there were no indications of any suspicious individuals captured on the building’s security cameras.

There were also no signs of forced entry to the home or fingerprints on the book.

In the year 1957, a charming tale titled “The Lonely Doll” was introduced, featuring a doll named Edith who formed friendships with not one but two adorable teddy bears.

When initially released, it stirred up debate due to a portrayal where one of the bears disciplines Edith for her misconduct by spanking her.

Willam Belli

43-year-old William Belli, known as a drag queen and famously portraying the transgender character Cherry Peck on Nip/Tuck, has been embroiled in debates following their appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race back in 2012.

The competitor was excluded from the competition due to multiple rule infractions, among which were accusations of supplying marijuana and alcohol to fellow participants.

Instead, the reason that made it to the final edit of the show was that Willam had tried to bring their spouse to the hotel room where they were staying during filming.

In hindsight, I acknowledged that my statement served as a veil, disguising the escalating frictions brewing between me and the World of Wonder crew.

Later on, I realized that my remark was essentially a mask, concealing the mounting disagreements I faced with the World of Wonder team.

In the year 2017, William faced backlash for statements deemed transphobic by many. Later on, he tried to express his apologies for those remarks.

Last year left me absolutely heartbroken when, as an ardent admirer, I found myself excluded from DragCon 2024. Security and law enforcement officials stated that I posed a ‘threat’ to the event – a claim that still leaves me puzzled and disheartened.

In response to such reports, William asserted that he was singled out due to his outspoken criticism towards the production company, World of Wonder.

Rhona Mitra

Rhona Mitra, 49, played Kit McGraw during season three of Nip/Tuck.

The actress, who left the entertainment industry in 2012, developed an autoimmune disease that she attributed to a reaction from a vaccination.

In 2015, a few years after traveling abroad for a short time, there was an issue with her surname that prevented her from being allowed back into the United States.

Years ago, she remembered reflecting that the name ‘Mitra’ has different religious connotations – being a Hindu name in India and a Muslim name in Iran. However, it had still ended up on a banned travel list.

After spending 18 years in the United States, working, paying taxes, establishing a life, and considering myself a resident, I encountered a surprising denial upon attempting entry.

Sanaa Lathan

53-year-old Sanaa Lathan, known for playing Michelle Landau in the fourth season of Nip/Tuck, recently garnered attention when an old video emerged, featuring her socializing with Sean Combs.

In the video posted in July 2015, it seemed like the actress was under the influence of alcohol when she was with Sean (also known as Diddy) and rapper French Montana.

The clip initially raised eyebrows due to the court cases Diddy is currently facing.

Sanaa also faced controversy in 2018 when rumours emerged suggesting she bit Beyonce at a party.

Actress Tiffany Haddish later confirmed Sanaa was the biter.

However, the former Nip/Tuck star has continued to deny the accusation.
