Is Natalie Portman Hinting at a Shocking Star Wars Comeback After 20 Years?
It’s well-known that Padmé Amidala, portrayed by Natalie Portman, passed away after giving birth to twins Luke and Leia in the Star Wars movies. Despite this, Natalie Portman, who was married to Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker in the prequel films, hasn’t closed the door on revisiting a distant galaxy.
While discussing my latest Apple TV+ original film in a recent red-carpet interview, I was asked about the possibility of revisiting the legendary Star Wars universe. And, well, who knows? Perhaps one day I might return.
The Academy Award winner expressed, “I’m ready for anything, even though no one has asked yet,” and further elaborated, “Life is exciting when you embrace all possibilities.
Another Star Wars Prequel Trilogy Alum Will Return to His Role
Previously, Portman’s fellow Star Wars actor, Christensen, has re-entered the Star Wars universe through Disney+ series such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Mandalorian. It was reported in April that Christensen would make a comeback to the show where Rosario Dawson plays the lead character Ahsoka Tano, following the announcement during a panel at the Star Wars Celebration event in Tokyo.
At that point, Christensen hinted that there wouldn’t be much information to reveal, but he confirmed that Anakin would return for Season 2.
Where does Anakin Fit in Disney+’s Ahsoka?
Dave Filoni hinted at the method he intends to use for continuing Anakin’s narrative within the show. He mentioned, “Anakin’s story has already been told; George Lucas handled that part perfectly.” He further clarified, “The tale I’m weaving is about Ahsoka, and since Anakin plays a significant role in her story, he will appear. However, I am being meticulous to avoid altering or modifying anything that George did.

Could Portman Guest Star in Ahsoka?
Discussing Christensen’s comeback in the franchise raises speculation about whether actress Portman might reprise her role as Padmé Amidala in “Ahsoka.” Previously, the podcaster hinted at the possibility of the star making a return. In January, Harloff suggested that if Padmé were to appear, it could be in a “world-between-worlds” scenario, which aligns with the involvement of Ewan McGregor and the young Ahsoka.
According to Harloff’s statement, she appears receptive to the idea, but it’s unclear if a deal has been finalized. As for Portman’s latest comments, it seems like there are no ongoing plans for her to reprise her role in the Star Wars universe at this time.
