Is Alexa Chung engaged to Tom Sturridge? The fashion icon sparks rumours with a bold new ring
As a die-hard fan of Alexa Chung, I’ve followed her journey from TV presenter to fashion icon with bated breath! Her unique style, witty charm, and unapologetic attitude have always left me in awe. From her collaborations with M&S, Mulberry, and J Crew, to being named Vogue’s Best Dressed Woman of the Year at just 25, Alexa has truly cemented her status as a fashion powerhouse!
Is it being speculated that Alexa Chung is now engaged to her boyfriend, Tom Sturridge, as she steps back into the public eye?
40-year-old model ignited speculation about their relationship status with a 38-year-old actor as early as June. In October, they were spotted sporting identical rings, fueling these rumors further.
In the latest video for Mango, Chung showcases an impressive gold ring adorned with a red gemstone on her left hand.
Tom, the child of esteemed movie director Charles Sturridge, appears receptive to the idea of marriage. On the other hand, Alexa has expressed confusion about the concept, stating: “I can’t grasp why marriage is distinct from not being married – I simply don’t understand it.
In a video released recently, it’s difficult to ignore the big ring she’s wearing on her hand, while in June, they both sported identical bands.
Last July, the pair made their relationship known to the world by attending the seventh day of the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament together.
To acknowledge their distinctive arrangement, for their initial appearance together, they were accompanied by Sienna Miller, who appeared radiant as she sat before the pair.
As a lifestyle advisor, I once shared my life with Mr. Sturridge and Miss Miller for an impressive four-year span, during which we welcomed our beautiful 13-year-old daughter, Marlowe, into the world. However, our journey together ended in 2015 when we decided to part ways.
But they are still on good terms, with Ms Miller calling Mr Sturrdige her ‘best friend’.
She endorsed her ex and Alexa, and in December, she expressed her happiness for them to Vogue UK, saying, “I’m truly content for them. It’s genuinely delightful.
In 2015, after our separation, there were reports suggesting that Tom and I harbored contrasting aspirations. To put it simply, my heart yearned for the joy of marriage and expanding our family, while Tom held a different vision.
Meanwhile Miss Chung has enjoyed a slew of high-profile romances.
Among her past relationships are Alex Turner, Alexander Skarsgard, Orson Fry, Albert Hammond Jr., two individuals named Faris Badwan, and Theo Hutchcraft.
In 2018, she discussed her thoughts on marriage with Porter, expressing: “I can’t comprehend the distinction between being married and not being married — frankly, it doesn’t make sense to me. Having a life partner seems appealing, but I don’t feel a need for a specific wedding day.
The new Mango video is Alexa Chung’s latest jump with her getting back into the spotlight.
This week at the British Fashion Awards, she graced the red carpet in a £10,000 Miu Miu furry coat and subsequently bestowed an award upon Margaret Barbour.
In October she was back on the runway and modeled for Miu Miu at Paris Fashion Week.
And in September she released a collaboration with Barbour.
Initially, she kicked off her professional journey in television broadcasting. Later, she collaborated with well-known brands such as Marks & Spencer, Mulberry, and J Crew.
In the year 2009, Alexa clinched the title of Vogue’s Best Dressed Woman of the Year at the tender age of 25. Notably, she outshone other notable figures such as Cheryl Cole, Emma Watson, Sienna Miller, and Kate Moss for this prestigious honor.
In the very same year, she earned the title of Contributing Editor for British Vogue, a role she has maintained for close to 15 years since then.
Now working with Mango, Miss Chung talked viewers through three questions about fashion and style.
Inquired about the idea that dressing based on age being old-fashioned, she replied: ‘I consider it a dated concept.’
I find it rather outdated and inappropriate when any sort of guidelines, restrictions, or imposing thoughts on someone about their conduct or identity are thrust upon them. It seems more fitting for modern times to encourage individual freedom and self-expression.
Primarily, it’s essential for personal expression, as dressing up should reflect your individuality without constraints.
I’m fond of a navy-blue sweater, timeless denim pants, a trench coat, Mary Janes or Loafers, and fortunately, these styles are making a comeback this season.
Instead, since I remained consistent with my preferences, I didn’t feel the need to adapt excessively to popular trends.
‘Perhaps I like to buy or invest in pieces that are going to last me longer.’
