As a long-time gamer who’s hopscotched across multiple platforms over the years, I can’t help but feel a sense of relief and excitement at the news that 2XKO supports cross-platform play. The days of being restricted to playing with friends on only one platform are slowly becoming a thing of the past, and it’s about time we embrace this change wholeheartedly.
2XKO players sure hope so.
The Alpha testing phase of the game 2XKO at Alpha Lab is underway, but there’s some uncertainty among players about whether the game allows cross-platform interaction.
Today, numerous games offer cross-platform compatibility to cater to gamers who use a variety of devices such as PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Given this trend, it makes perfect sense that enthusiasts of fighting games are eager for the same feature in Riot Games’ upcoming title. Moreover, since VALORANT already supports crossplay across consoles, there is a strong desire for this functionality in the new game as well.
Find out below if 2XKO supports cross-platform play.
Does 2XKO support cross-platform play?
Absolutely! The game 2XKO allows for play across different platforms. But, as mentioned by Riot Games during the start of the Alpha Lab playtest on August 8, it has certain restrictions to consider due to its current stage in development.
In simple terms, Riot announced that players on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 can play together if they are in the same region. However, they aim to enable cross-region private matches at a later stage, but full cross-region play is not available during the Alpha Lab phase.
On PlayStation 5 and similar systems, you can engage in multiplayer games with friends across different platforms, provided they reside in the same region, like North America for instance. However, if your friends are located on other continents, you’ll need to wait until Riot extends the cross-platform play feature to accommodate global players.

How does the 2XKO Alpha Lab playtest work?
During the ongoing Alpha Lab playtesting phase, players of 2XKO can participate in a public arena, match with various opponents, establish private gaming sessions, and engage in battles either single-handedly or as a team of two.
Currently, all players can access the champions Ahri, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, and Yasuo as they participate in the playtest. But keep in mind that Riot Games may introduce a system where certain champions need to be unlocked by completing missions or earning credits in the future.
