Irv Gotti sets record straight about suffering ‘minor stroke’ earlier this year
As a seasoned critic who has witnessed the rise and fall of many musical empires, I must say that the news about Irv Gotti’s health scare earlier this year is disheartening, to say the least. Having followed his career from the early days of Murder Inc., I can attest to his indelible impact on the hip-hop scene and the sheer tenacity with which he has navigated its tumultuous waters.
It’s been clarified by Irv Gotti’s group that they are correcting misinformation regarding his health situation from earlier in the year, following whispers suggesting he suffered a stroke.
“For quite some time, Irv has been managing diabetes, leading to a minor stroke approximately six months ago. However, as confirmed by a representative of Murder Inc. and Visionary Ideas co-founder on Thursday to TMZ, there’s been no truth to the speculations about Gotti utilizing a walker during his rehabilitation period. The representative added that after modifying his diet, he has made a full recovery.”
The representative stated that Irv is not currently residing in a rehabilitation center; instead, he’s at home with his loved ones, savoring life.
On Thursday, neither Gotti’s nor Visionary Ideas’ representatives provided an immediate response to The Times’ request for a comment.
As a cinephile, I’ve been basking in the warmth of my boys, my sons I mean, and my beloved canines, taking it easy and soaking up the peace. Meanwhile, I’m gearing up for my upcoming biopic project, delving into the life story of the late rap legend DMX, who used to be under the same label roof as mine.
“Apparently, he mentioned that he’s growing older. He added that the only thing worse than aging is never having the chance to do so.”
Earlier this week, whispers emerged about Gotti experiencing a stroke and utilizing a cane for support. Talent manager Wack 100, who made these assertions on his podcast on Monday, stated that he had obtained images from a rehabilitation staff member showing Gotti during his recovery process. According to him, these images suggested that Gotti was using a walker and had lost a significant amount of weight while dealing with his health issues, which he claimed were being kept secret.
Last year on the well-known “Drink Champs” podcast, Gotti disclosed some health concerns related to his diabetes. During this conversation, he also discussed growing up in Queens, past hip-hop conflicts, the closure of his label following a federal investigation, and his current health struggles. He revealed that his body was declining due to diabetes, admitting that he had neglected both taking insulin regularly and modifying his diet as advised by doctors.
In the recent past, I found myself at the center of some disturbing allegations made by a woman in Florida. She’s alleged that I committed sexual assault and rape during our relationship from 2020 to 2022. However, I want to make it clear that these accusations are untrue. My legal representation has stated that we intend to vigorously challenge this groundless claim with a counter lawsuit.
