Ironmouse accuses VShojo of withholding $500K in charity donations, causing talent exodus
Investigating Ironmouse’s allegations concerning mismanaged charity funds stirred up significant controversy, leading to a wave of departures among VShojo talent members and ultimately uncovering more profound problems within the organization.
A well-known figure in the world of Virtual YouTubers, known as Ironmouse, revealed through a YouTube video that she was parting ways with her agency, Vshojo, due to allegations of mismanagement involving approximately half a million dollars in charitable donations. This revelation ignited public outrage, prompting fans to seek clarification from the Vtuber agency. Furthermore, this scandal has led to several prominent members of Vshiojo leaving the company as well.
Ironmouse explains why she left Vshojo
On July 21st, Ironmouse disclosed a video named “Why I Left VShojo,” where she shared that she is yet to receive a substantial amount of money and mentioned that VShojo didn’t transfer more than half a million dollars raised for the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF). She also highlighted some legal restrictions that currently prevent her from disclosing all the specifics, but assured that she will be completely open about everything once possible.
Ironmouse shared, “I understand this might seem overwhelming, but it’s crucial that I maintain transparency with you. There’s a lot I wish to share, but due to advice from my lawyer, I must hold off on discussing further details until more of the legal process has progressed.
As Ironmouse stated, the charitable contribution she mentioned originated from one of her past fundraising events (subathons). It’s been reported that she asked Vhosjo to donate to the IDF on her behalf. The reason for this is that the agency manages payments for its artists or talents. Unfortunately, a year has gone by, but the agency hasn’t yet transferred the money to the designated charity.
Dissatisfied, Ironmouse made known her decision to depart from her agency and work as an independent VTuber on her own. Moreover, Tiltify has come forward to aid her with a charitable campaign for the IDF. This assistance includes a forthcoming live stream where all donations will be channeled directly towards the foundation, guaranteeing transparency in fund handling and efficient delivery in the future.
Based on a report by Projekt Melody, the donations surpassed their initial target of $10,000 significantly, reaching an astonishing $726,818. This impressive figure was made possible by the generous contributions from the community and prominent brands such as Gamer Supps.
Vshojo controversy’s domino effect: Mass talent exodus, and allegations of unpaid talent
After Ironmouse’s disclosures, several Vshojo artists started to move away from the agency. Notable among them are Kson, Projekt Melody, Froot, Henya, Hime, Michi Mochievee, and numerous others.
During the dispute, it became apparent that another problem was being overlooked – Kson disclosed she hadn’t been paid her due wages. In a live broadcast, she reportedly confronted the CEO of VShojo Japan about this issue and announced her decision to leave the agency directly.
In summary, it’s clear that the matter isn’t resolved yet since the community, along with experts like Legal Mindset, are carefully analyzing the potential legal ramifications linked to the accusations against VShojo regarding their handling of finances.
