Ioan Gruffudd, known for his role in Fantastic Four, is facing a potentially lengthy and contentious court battle with his former wife, Alice Evans. The trial is expected to last up to two weeks and promises to be a difficult process for both parties.
On Monday, the couple currently involved in a legal battle appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court. Evans, 57, joined the hearing remotely and is asking the judge to increase the $1,500 monthly spousal support payments Gruffudd is currently making.
Gruffudd, age 51, is asking a court to continue blocking Evans from harassing him and his wife, Bianca Wallace, online with negative and damaging posts.
On Monday, Gruffudd, dressed in a dark blue suit with a tie and light blue shirt, stated he doesn’t want to continue making payments to his former spouse, and actually opposes any increase in the amount he currently pays.
According to his lawyer, Joseph Langlois, the actor wants to ask the court to end any support for his ex-partner, Evans, because Evans has repeatedly violated the restraining order. The actor’s latest film, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, has earned over $400 million globally, Langlois told Judge Michael Convey.
The judge set a trial date for February 23 to March 6, 2026, a nine-day period where the former couple’s restraining order, financial support, and other disagreements will be decided.
Langlois announced that he intends to subpoena 33-year-old Wallace, who is pregnant and did not attend Monday’s hearing, to share her account of the alleged harassment of both Gruffudd and herself by Evans.
Recently, Evans submitted legal filings, obtained by the Daily Mail, stating she has limited financial resources.

She claimed she was in a difficult financial situation, needing to borrow money from friends and starting a GoFundMe campaign that received $18,000 in donations.
Evans explained that she and her daughters, Ella (16) and Elsie (12), recently lost their home in Los Angeles because she was unable to pay the $6,500 monthly rent.
She contended that she had to ‘burn through’ her savings to pay living expenses and legal fees.
She believes Gruffudd, who married Wallace in April, has the financial means to contribute more than the current $3,000 monthly for child support and $1,500 for spousal support.
But Gruffudd has fought his ex’s cash demands and blasted Evans’ claims in his own court filing.
According to the documents, he claims she deliberately got herself evicted by stopping rent payments and taking the children on a trip to Europe instead.
He stated her reason for these actions was to maintain a false image of being financially unstable, hoping to damage his reputation and pressure him into paying more child support than he could reasonably manage.
Gruffudd also maintained that subpoenaed bank records show that Evans is far from being broke.

Reports indicate Evans earned over $130,000 in 2024 and anticipates similar earnings this year, but she has stated these claims are untrue and inaccurate.
Oh my god, it just breaks my heart! Apparently, in some legal document, Rhys Gruffudd said he was absolutely horrified to be getting tons of frantic texts from his kids. They were repeating everything Alice was saying – all this drama about them supposedly becoming homeless soon! It’s like she’s putting words in their mouths and he’s so upset they’re getting caught in the middle of this whole thing. It’s just awful to see! He clearly thinks Alice is making it all up and manipulating the kids, and it’s devastating to see them stressed out like that.
But Evans denied manipulating the children to send plaintive messages to their father.
She stated in court documents that she never asked her children to contact Gruffudd regarding their eviction and potential homelessness. She also confirmed the children understood their family was facing financial hardship and being evicted.
Evans also responded to Gruffudd’s claim that his former partner continues to break a three-year restraining order by allegedly stalking him, harassing him repeatedly, and posting negative comments about him online.
She claimed the restraining order was an attempt by Gruffudd to silence her and infringe upon her right to free speech.
Evans stated firmly that there was no evidence of any stalking behavior. He emphasized that he didn’t know where the couple lived and had no desire to follow or harass them, calling the accusation ‘ridiculous’.
In August 2022, Gruffudd obtained a restraining order after explaining to the court that Evans had been spreading damaging and hateful messages – through texts, emails, and social media – to scare him and his fiancé, Bianca Wallace, and to turn their two young children against him.

Since the current restraining order is set to expire on Monday, Gruffudd requested a renewal, citing Evans’ ongoing abusive behavior.
On Monday, Judge Convey decided to keep the restraining order in place until March 6, 2026, which is the final day of the trial.
Gruffudd and Evans first connected over 20 years ago while filming 102 Dalmatians. Their on-set connection blossomed into a real-life romance, and they got married in Mexico in 2007.
After Alice publicly shared that she and her husband were separating in March 2021, he filed for divorce. Their divorce was finalized in July 2023, ending their 14-year marriage.
