Introducing the Bandit, the new VALORANT weapon

VALORANT is getting its first new pistol since launch – the Bandit! Learn more about this new weapon here.

VALORANT is getting its first new secondary weapon since launch: the Bandit. Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about it.

Bandit in VALORANT

The Bandit is the first new sidearm, and the second new weapon in the game (after the Outlaw).

The Bandit is a budget-friendly pistol known for its accuracy and ability to instantly eliminate opponents with a headshot. It offers the same one-shot headshot potential as the Sheriff, but at a lower price.

Bandit costs a little more than the Ghost. Riot says they added Bandit to give players more options in early rounds, letting them decide whether to prioritize using agent abilities or focusing on their shooting skills.

Now you have an extra weapon option during Thrifty rounds, letting you spend more Credits on abilities.

VALORANT’s latest update, patch 12.00, introduces a new agent called The Bandit, along with a revamped Breeze map, adjustments to game balance, and a fun new game mode called All Random One Site.

Okay, so I’ve been testing out the Sheriff versus the Bandit, and here’s what I’ve found. The Sheriff definitely feels stronger – its bullets punch right through walls, and it probably does more damage overall. But the Bandit isn’t a pushover! It holds way more bullets in a magazine, and I can switch to it and reload much faster. We have the same amount of total ammo, though, so it’s really about how efficiently I use it.

Compared to the Ghost, this gun shares a lot in common. Both weapons can penetrate medium-thickness walls with ease, and they equip and reload at the same speed. The main differences are that the Ghost holds 13 bullets per magazine and has a total ammo capacity of 39.

The main problem with the Ghost is that it can’t instantly eliminate opponents if they have any health buffer or are farther than about 30 meters away. The Bandit addresses both of these weaknesses, offering a balance between the Ghost’s strengths and the Sheriff’s capabilities.
