In a recent interview, Lauren Silverman provided a unique glimpse into the life of her youngest son Eric, whom she co-parents with her partner Simon Cowell. She shared personal insights about their family life.
As a devoted follower, I fondly reminisced about my 11-year-old friend Eric during my visit to The Chelsea Flower Show alongside Bruno Tonioli, a fellow star from Simon Cowell’s Britain’s Got Talent.
As a die-hard admirer, I vehemently assert that when it comes to the upcoming wave of nepotism kids, Eric stands out as an exception. Contrary to the stereotypes, he’s not pampered in the slightest; instead, he’s been raised with impeccable manners due to his illustrious parents.
Additionally, Bruno shed light on the lifestyle of Simon, 65, and Lauren in the picturesque Cotswolds region. He mentioned that Eric enthusiastically participates in family yoga exercises whenever Bruno visits their home.
The interview signifies a new phase where Eric, who had maintained a very private life for most of his youth, is now moving further into the public eye.

Eric made his first significant public appearance alongside Simon, back in May, on Britain’s Got Talent, following many years during which they seldom showed up in public or mentioned each other in interviews.
Now Lauren has revealed that Bruno is very much known as ‘Uncle Bruno’ to Eric who ‘loves him’.
In my conversation with Closer magazine, I expressed about Eric, “He may appear to be quite privileged, but let me assure you, he’s far from being spoiled. In reality, Eric is incredibly well-mannered and well-bred.
As I find myself gracing some Britain’s Got Talent stages, stepping more into the limelight, as Lauren shared in an interview, it’s a family affair. The beauty of it is, much like the other judges, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon, their children and Eric have essentially grown up together.
‘So it’s a really nice family kind of vibe there. It’s lovely!’
A few days ago, Simon publicly displayed some seldom-seen photos from his personal collection, featuring his son Eric who bears a striking resemblance to him, as they enjoyed a leisurely stroll in the sunshine with their pet dog.
The influential figure in the music industry posted uncommon photos of his 11-year-old boy to his 2.7 million followers, depicting them together with their beloved German Shepherd pet.
The pair, father and son, wore matching styles for their trip; they both sported dark T-shirts. However, Simon chose black tracksuit pants, while Eric opted for black shorts and Nike sneakers.

Simon and Eric, along with their cute dog, were spotted kneeling down to give it affection. Meanwhile, the popular television personality was observed grasping a ball in his hand.
He wrote: ‘1. Love, 2. Even more love, 3. It was a long walk’.
In the final month of the previous year, Simon displayed his competitive spirit by participating in a swimming competition alongside his son, Eric.
The television judge posted a seldom-seen video on Instagram, capturing the moment when the duo engaged in a friendly competition in the swimming pool.
Eric triumphantly declared, “I’ve won! I’ve won!”, followed by a celebration and a request for his father to step out of the frame.
Speaking directly into the camera, Simon quipped, “That was tough, but it was all worth it,” while Eric proudly declared, “Victory is mine! I’ve triumphed! Let’s take a new photo – I’ve won!
The influential figure in music seemed to relish a break from the cold British weather, sporting fashionable sunglasses by the sunlit swimming pool.
Simon teased in the caption: ‘I still think I won! Love, Simon x’.
In May, Simon granted entrance unofficially to Eric (his son) and Hollie (Amanda Holden’s daughter) during the Britain’s Got Talent auditions.

Onstage, performer Haribow showcased an exhilarating Japanese skipping routine that left the crowd ecstatic, urging the judges to activate the coveted golden buzzer – however, it was too late as they had all been utilized earlier in the competition.
As the cheers from the crowd became more intense, Simon admitted that he had “never experienced such a response earlier,” then motioned towards his son, Eric, to press the button.
Simon nodded approvingly as Eric and Hollie, both twelve years old, sprang up and dashed towards the judges’ table, hitting the golden buzzer and propelling Harbow straight into the live semi-final rounds.
Simon stated that it was his granddaughter, Amanda’s child, who was motivated by the crowd. In the upcoming finals, we will be watching you, and I offer my sincere congratulations.
In June, Simon wept openly as he shared that he felt life had no purpose left for him following the demise of his parents. However, the presence of his son gave him a reason to keep going.
In one of his most candid and heartfelt interviews yet, he shared his deepest feelings during an episode of the Diary of a CEO podcast hosted by Steven Bartlett. He revealed that following his setbacks, he had reached a stage where life seemed devoid of significance.
He talked about his remarkable bonds with his mother Julie and father Eric, and the heart-wrenching sorrow he experienced upon their demise, only to find solace when his partner Lauren shared the news of her pregnancy.
In 2014, they brought their son, Eric, into their family. Simon remarked that this event, following a severe dip in Eric’s mental health, had an immense impact and essentially transformed everything for him.
In his own words, as tears welled up, he confessed, “I had reached a stage where everything seemed inconsequential to me. The weight of it all fell upon me with an unbearable force. Being under the glaring lights of television cameras made me feel like a jester, while I was struggling to keep my inner turmoil hidden. My emotions overwhelmed me, leading to significant weight gain.
If I learned tomorrow that a bus would strike me, my concerns were far from such an event. Instead, a gloomy veil descended over my days, casting them into the deepest despair. It was as if life itself held no value, mirroring the sentiments of those who claim existence no longer matters.
‘At times, I’ve questioned my purpose in life, feeling a lack of motivation to continue. Suicide wasn’t an option I considered, but if something unfortunate were to happen to me, I wouldn’t feel particularly distressed. I’m still grappling with periods of depression.’
In the heart of his sorrow, he discussed experiencing a profound depression and came to understand that physical possessions held no significance.

Simon too developed an obsession with work as a means of coping with his grief, expressing it thusly: ‘The possessions I once valued held no significance anymore.’
In my state, I felt myself slipping away. Overwhelmed with misery, I entertained the idea of transforming into a vampire and working until 7 am, hoping to find solace in this unusual lifestyle.
In my pursuit of a captivating way of life, I found myself ensnared by its allure. As this chapter came to an end, I yearned for a replacement and plunged headfirst into the abyss of overwork. My successes multiplied, yet my happiness dwindled.
Initially drawn to an appealing lifestyle, I unknowingly slipped into addiction. Craving a substitute for what was lost, I transformed into a workaholic. Although I excelled and achieved much, I remained profoundly unhappy.
Upon learning that Lauren was expecting, he remarked: “Lauren phoned me and asked, ‘Are you seated?’ That’s a sure sign it’s something important!
‘And it changed everything. It made me happy again, it was perfect.’
