Introducing DCU’s First-Ever Hawkgirl Funko Pop: Get Yours Now!

DC Studios and Funko have revealed the first-ever Funko Pop! figure of Hawkgirl from the DC Universe, which looks amazing. In the upcoming movie “Superman,” many significant characters will make their big-screen debut, with Isabela Merced portraying one of them – Hawkgirl. The film, starring David Corenswet, has also confirmed that Hawkgirl is part of the Justice League, alongside Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern (Guy Gardner), Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and an unexpected member, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.

While specific details about Hawkgirl’s part in the upcoming movie Superman remain uncertain, her membership in the Justice League suggests she will be crucial in Superman’s battle against Lex Luthor and his formidable confederates. As excitement for the film builds, official merchandise for Superman has appeared both online and in stores to fuel our eagerness, including an exclusive Funko Pop vinyl figure that showcases Hawkgirl’s remarkable power.

Funko recently unveiled an exclusive sneak peek at the Funko Pop! figurine representing Hawkgirl, highlighting the character’s design inspired by Isabela Merced’s portrayal in the DC Universe movie.

This special, globally produced figure is limited to just 5,000 units. It includes a UV Premium Plastic Pop! Shield, making it an ideal addition for collectors. Furthermore, it boasts new authentication packaging enhanced with a micro-optic technology sticker.

On July 11, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time, you’ll find the exclusive Hawkgirl Funko Pop! figure from Superman available for purchase on the official Funko website.

A Funko Pop figure from DC Studios isn’t a new thing; they already released the first-ever Green Lantern Funko Pop featuring Guy Gardner. Additionally, other Funko vinyl figures in the Superman series include characters like Superman, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, Metamorpho, The Engineer, Krypto, Mister Terrific, and the Hammer of Boravia.

I’m thrilled to share that I can’t wait for the premiere of “Superman” in theaters on July 11, 2025! This highly anticipated film boasts an extraordinary ensemble cast, headlined by David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, and Anthony Carrigan. Each of these talented actors is sure to bring their unique flair to the iconic characters they portray. The anticipation is building, and I can’t imagine a more exciting lineup!

How Hawkgirl Fits in Superman & DCU’s Future (Theory)

In the comic book Superman, Hawkgirl will find herself occupied as she joins forces with the Justice League to counteract the menaces instigated by Lex Luthor’s relentless pursuit of permanently defeating Superman. Furthermore, her interactions within the current Justice League members (Guy Gardner and Mister Terrific) may shed light on her past connections with them and on Earth.

In the film, there might be a brief reference to Hawkgirl’s background. However, it’s likely that future portrayals of this character will delve deeper into her Thanagarian lineage and its potential significance for the DC Universe’s upcoming events (for more details on Hawkgirl’s next confirmed role, check out Peacemaker Season 2).

Indeed, during her interview on the DC Studios Showcase Official Podcast, actress Isabela Merced hinted at Hawkgirl having a particularly grim past because of the character’s connection to reincarnation.

Kendra is not just reborn; she’s an alien reincarnation. This means she retains memories from her previous lives. The plot is quite grim, to the point that it leaves me questioning how they plan to tackle such a challenging theme. I believe she carries the experiences, pain, and errors of her past existences within her, which may explain her somewhat cranky disposition.

In my perspective as a movie reviewer, while “Superman” might not delve deeply into Hawkgirl’s troubled past, the hints dropped about her background could set the stage for her significant contributions in DCU’s initial chapter, “Gods and Monsters.” Given that her alien lineage has been instrumental in shaping her character, I am intrigued to see how this aspect will be further explored and integrated into the broader narrative.

In the animated “Justice League Unlimited” series, Hawkgirl found herself torn between her allegiance to Thanagar and her ties on Earth when Thanagarians launched an invasion of our planet. If the DCU were to develop this storyline, it would provide an opportunity for Merced’s Hawkgirl to take center stage in a future setting.
