Interscope Records has stopped promoting the artist D4vd while the Los Angeles Police Department investigates him regarding the death of a 15-year-old girl.
Sources told TMZ on Thursday that Universal Music Group (UMG), along with Sony Music Publishing and Wasserman, have paused all promotional activities while an investigation is underway.
D4vd recently promoted his album, Withered, which was released in April.
A private photo of singer D4vd, age 20, and a 13-year-old girl he was dating has surfaced as police searched his home on Wednesday for any signs of blood.
The photo shows D4vd and Celeste Rivas, a teenager who recently passed away, sitting close together in a green booth at an event. A flash from the camera is visible in a mirror behind them. Celeste is looking at D4vd with affection.
TMZ reported Wednesday that police left the property with several bags of evidence and a computer after discovering images there.

The new photo shows D4vd wearing a black shirt featuring a white spider design – the same shirt he wore when he met Billie Eilish last fall.
The body of Rivas, who had been missing since May 2024, was found earlier this month in a Tesla registered to the rapper in Hollywood, California.
I’ve been following D4vd – David Anthony Burke is his real name – and as of this afternoon, he hasn’t been officially accused of anything. I saw that the Daily Mail contacted both his record label, Interscope, and D4vd himself for more information about what’s going on, but haven’t seen any updates yet.
New images have emerged showing the musician and the deceased teenager together in a livestream from January 2024.
At one point during the stream, Rivas was encouraging D4vd to answer a question from a viewer.
D4vd seemingly shared a TikTok video of someone slicing lunchmeat, implying it was a fitting reaction to discovering a romantic partner was speaking with other people.
Seeing this is deeply upsetting, especially knowing Celeste was found in pieces. It’s heartbreaking, and she deserves justice.
One person joked, ‘Looks like we’re all going to be in a documentary!’ Another suggested investigating the artist’s social media activity, specifically looking through everything he’s liked and reposted.
Reflecting the widespread fascination with true crime, one social media user joked, ‘It feels like everyone’s life will eventually become a Netflix documentary.’
Okay, so there’s been a lot of talk about that chopping video I posted, and I wanted to clear things up. I just want everyone to know that when I originally shared it, I absolutely wasn’t thinking about D4vd. It was just a random clip, and it’s become a bit of a situation! I wanted to set the record straight on that.

Brayan explained that his TikTok video was a joke based on a popular cucumber trend and wasn’t connected to anything happening in the news or about any specific people.
He explained the video was originally intended as entertainment and wasn’t connected to the murder investigation.
Brayan said of D4vd: ‘I have no idea who bro was until today keep that in mind.’
People online also pointed to a 2022 single and video from the artist titled Romantic Homicide, which featured a dark-haired female who bore a striking resemblance to Rivas.
Online investigators discovered a song by the artist that may hold a crucial clue in the teenager’s tragic death. The song, a demo titled “Celeste_Demo unfin,” was released in December 2023.
The lyrics revealed a number of identifying traits Rivas had prior to her tragic death.

The song features the lines: ‘Oh, Celeste / The girl with my name tattooed on her chest / I can still smell her scent on my clothes, like cigarettes / I hear her voice with every breath I take / I’m completely obsessed with her.’
The lyrics then suggest the artist is singing about a developing romantic connection with someone.
This collection of lines expresses a complex mix of feelings. It starts with a suggestive comment (‘Oh, Celeste’), followed by insecurity about being loved only for physical appearance, and then a compliment about someone looking beautiful. The speaker admits to feeling down about missing someone, but quickly changes the subject.
It was not immediately clear if D4vd was singing about Rivas in the track.
