Over the weekend, Bill Gates’ daughter Phoebe and Sir Paul McCartney’s grandson Arthur Donald were noticeably affectionate during an uncommon public outing.

As a graduate from the class of 2021, I had the opportunity to work as an analyst at both Beehouse and Goldman Sachs. Later on, I was privileged enough to be part of the team at Iconiq Capital, a renowned US investment management firm, based in San Francisco.

Phoebe’s dad, Bill, has been pals with Sir Paul since the beginning of the 2000s and is said to have stood by The Beatles legend through his tumultuous separation from his former spouse Heather Mills during their divorce.

Simultaneously, Paul’s daughter, Stella (aged 52), cultivated a strong bond with Bill’s former spouse, Melinda. In addition, she’s been guiding Phoebe in her journey within the fashion industry.

Arthur’s grandpa, Sir Paul, is believed to have formed a close relationship with Phoebe’s dad, dating back to at least the early 2000s.

At a book launch in 2005, the two individuals are seen engaged in conversation with each other, while it was also mentioned that year that Bill was associated with Paul, as part of his entourage, during Paul’s tumultuous divorce from Heather Mills.

It appears that the relationship moved through generations, as Paul’s daughter, Stella, developed a closeness with Bill’s former spouse, Melinda.

In an interview with WWD in 2022, Phoebe, the co-founder of the emerging digital fashion company Phia, shared that she and her mother are more than just acquaintances; they are good friends. Even when Phoebe was young, her mother would send her small gifts and notes, which always brought a spark of excitement to her day. For as long as she can remember, Phoebe has been eagerly asking her mom if they could meet up.

Over time, Stella and Phoebe have developed a strong friendship. They’ve found common ground in their well-known fathers and share a mutual ambition to work within the same professional field.
