Inside Showpo CEO Jane Lu’s bizarre Pitbull-themed birthday party
Last week, Showpo’s CEO, Jane Lu, marked her 39th birthday, and her team decided to pull off an amusing practical joke in celebration.
On a Monday post to Instagram, the Australian entrepreneur published a video featuring her staff donning costumes inspired by American singer Pitbull, also known as Mr. Worldwide, in celebration of her birthday.
The girls donned skin cap wigs, oversized spectacles, and business attire, as well as pencil-sketched beard marks on their chins to mimic the rapper’s beard style, all in an attempt to surprise their boss.
Today, we’re planning a surprise for Jane on her birthday. One of the girls mentioned that we’re all dressed up as Mr. Worldwide. (Referring to Pitbull)
In the video, it was noticeable that some employees were dancing, and one individual went so far as to perform a split, when Jane walked into the office.

In the video, a beverage can labeled “Fireball” was noticeable, subtly suggesting the popular Pitbull track with a similar title playing in the background music.
Jane’s reaction was priceless, as her mouth gaped open at the bizarre surprise party.
In a brown mini skirt, the Shark Tank personality displayed her slender, endless legs. She complemented this look with a black turtleneck top and an oversized brown jacket.
‘Mrs Worldwide has a nice ring to it,’ she captioned the post.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’ve noticed an intriguing social media phenomenon lately – fans are donning outfits reminiscent of the iconic Hotel Room Service hitmaker and gracing his concert stages with their presence. It’s an exciting way to immerse oneself in the music and culture!
Multiple TikTok videos feature large groups of people wearing bald caps at his concerts, which has become a popular joke online.
Recently, Jane playfully teased on TikTok about her husband not feeling the need to dress up as elaborately as she does.
Even though she heads Showpo, her husband James Waldie, who serves as the company’s CFO, typically dresses in flip-flops (thongs) and a T-shirt.

Although Jane frequently dons a variety of miniskirts and dresses, her spouse usually sticks to a relaxed outfit consisting of the same attire, coupled with a backpack and an untidy bun.
Or:
Jane is often spotted in different mini skirts and dresses, whereas her husband tends to stick with a casual look that includes a backpack and a messy bun.
I can’t help but gush over this fact, folks – apparently, I’m considered quite the ‘style icon,’ and let me tell you, it’s a title I wear proudly, much like an Apple product on my person. And the best part? The Aussies seem to adore my ‘Steve Jobs mentality’ when it comes to fashion, which is music to my ears!
‘Love that money doesn’t change him,’ one person wrote.
‘This is so real. Relatable,’ another said.
It was humorously suggested that the key factor behind the couple’s ownership of a $100 million company was James’ straightforward and budget-friendly approach to fashion.
One person quipped that this situation suggests ‘men are all cut from the same cloth’, while another observed that his limited closet allows Jane to have extra room for her personal garments.
