Inside Romeo Beckham’s boozy 22nd birthday: Posh and Becks turn swanky Mayfair eatery into a club for son and celeb guests as they shell out on free-flowing tequila and a doughnut cake
As someone who has always admired the glamorous and high-profile lifestyle of the Beckham family, I must say, Saturday night was quite the spectacle for young Romeo! It seems like the Ambassadors Club in London served as the perfect venue to celebrate not just one, but two special occasions – Romeo’s birthday and David’s Emmy win.
On Saturday evening, Romeo Beckham, the second-born child of Posh and Becks, commemorated his 22nd birthday surrounded by his illustrious family members and friends.
On his notable birthday, the ex-football player enjoyed the occasion at the recently opened Ambassadors Clubhouse in fashionable Mayfair, London, in the company of his parents, David (age 49) and Victoria (age 51).
As an ardent admirer, I seized the opportunity to commandeer a Punjabi-flavored eatery for the evening, transforming it into our very own vibrant nightspot, complete with an energetic 80-strong crew!
At the event, the dress code was formal elegance, with attendees donning tuxedos and high-end gowns. Romeo accessorized his suit with a diamond necklace, two expensive Van Cleef & Arpels bracelets worth £4,250 each, and an eye-catching diamond-studded tooth grill for added sparkle on his lower teeth.
David appeared more reserved, donning a black turtleneck sweater paired with a black blazer, whereas Victoria preferred her signature look – a black tuxedo from her own line, accentuated by a snug black corset underneath the £1,270 jacket.
Harper, 13, the youngest Beckham, was also in attendance, wearing a black maxi dress.
18-year-old Cruz Beckham arrived with his fresh romantic interest, Brazilian singer Jackie Apostel, who donned a flowing golden gown that reached her ankles.
The venue suited the glamorous theme, all mirrored ceilings, plush velvet sofas, animal print drapes and dimly lit crystal chandeliers.
At most venues, reserving a table seating six individuals often requires a minimum expenditure of £600, and the least expensive bottle of champagne on offer is priced at £96.
Without any restrictions, the birthday celebrant had free reign on this special day, although his cake, instead of being lavish, featured a delightful assortment of various flavored Krispy Kreme doughnuts, provided by his father who also delivered an emotional speech.
As Romeo blew the 22 candles out, the song It’s My Birthday by rapper will.i.am played in the background.
Throughout the evening, everyone enjoyed an assortment of Belvedere Vodka cocktails and bottles of Mexican Tapatio Blanco tequila. The music for the event was expertly handled by Hale Zero, a trio of DJs who are well-known favorites among the Beckham family.
I simply couldn’t contain my excitement when the legendary British trio spun tunes at both Victoria’s 50th birthday bash in April and her launch event in sunny Spain for her collaboration with Mango on their fabulous fashion line! What a treat it was to be a part of the music-filled celebrations!
Additionally, they appeared at her fashion week event in Paris and the premiere of the Netflix documentary series titled ‘Beckham’.
Romeo’s companions, such as his ex-Brentford FC teammates Max Dickov, Roco Rees, Max Wilcox, and Charlie Farr, along with the well-known tattoo artist, Certified Letter Boy (who has inked all three Beckham brothers), were present to join in the celebration.
Prominent attendees were also present, such as television and radio personality Roman Kemp, aged 31, who is a close friend of the family; young model Nathan Rosen; and fashion designer Rhuigi Villaseñor.
Romeo also posed for photos with footballer pal Mitchell Curry and chef Chris Baber.
Although they broke up in February after five years together, his former girlfriend, model Mia Regan, was conspicuously absent, even though they claimed to remain friends.
Last week saw the grand opening of The Ambassadors Clubhouse. A lively launch event took place on Thursday, attracting popular actress Fay Ripley (age 58), her daughter Parker Lapaine (age 21), as well as models Harry Tibble and Yasmin Mills.
Presenting a fresh take on traditional Punjabi warmth, here’s the newest addition to the restaurant lineup from JKS Restaurants – a venture established by siblings Jyotin, Karam, and Sunaina Sethi.
A threesome operates multiple eateries in London, among them is Gymkhana, a two-Michelin starred restaurant located in Marylebone. This establishment has frequently hosted the Beckham brothers, David and Brooklyn (who was not present at Romeo’s 22nd birthday party on Saturday).
At the Ambassadors Club, you’ll find intimate dining spaces accommodating up to 100 guests. This establishment is renowned for its additional nightlife venue, the subterranean Ambassy Nightclub. Notable figures like the Beckham group often transition here following dinner, usually departing around 3am.
Shortly following their departure, the Beckham family found yet another cause for joy. In Los Angeles, the Emmy awards were underway – and they were victorious! Specifically, David Beckham and director Fisher Stevens triumphed in the Outstanding Documentary or Non-fiction Series category. This recognition was for their Netflix series titled “Beckham,” which was released last year.
David later facetimed Fisher Stevens from London, saying they’d ‘celebrate next week’.
This morning’s post from Victoria reads: ‘I’m so proud of you, @davidbeckham! Kudos to the whole team for this fantastic achievement! Lots of kisses xx.’
Actually, the festivities for Romeo’s birthday took place over two nights. On the day itself, September 1st, they celebrated with a night out in Las Vegas and raised a toast to him. The following Saturday was the second part of his birthday celebrations in Rome.
Last week on Instagram, David and Victoria Beckham showcased some memorable moments from their fast-paced U.S. journey, featuring images of the entire Beckham family dining out at restaurant Komodo. While there, Romeo was treated to a grand, four-tiered cake following his attendance at Bruno Mars’ spectacular concert.
Embarrassed, Romeo quickly hid his face, as Victoria captured the scene on video. Her caption read: ‘Just to clarify, I’m not accountable for this cake!’
Instead, their oldest son, Brooklyn, who is 25 years old, chose not to accompany them on the journey as he’s currently vacationing with his wife, Nicola Peltz, aged 29.
