Inside Rachel Uchitel's $2.59m mansion and new life in Palm Beach: 'I'm finally at peace'

As I delve into Rachel Uchitel’s captivating story, I am utterly captivated by her resilience and determination to forge a new path. Her journey from the bustling streets of New York City to the sun-kissed shores of Palm Beach is a testament to her indomitable spirit.

After spending a year in Palm Beach, Florida, Rachel Uchitel now experiences tranquility following her relocation from New York City.

49-year-old Rachel saw this as an opportunity to begin anew, and so she bought a new home priced at $2.59 million in December 2022. However, it wasn’t until the summer of 2023 that she finally moved into her new dwelling.

Exclusively obtained photographs by DailyMail.com reveal that the entrepreneur’s grandiose residence showcases a distinctive “coastal chic” ambiance, featuring artwork by Renata Cuellar and comfortable decorations.

Rachel explained that she opted for a coastal chic design because it beautifully combines the calming rhythm of the sea with the sophistication of simplicity, organic textures, and spacious openness, reminiscent of the ocean’s elegance. This was her reasoning behind the choice.

She mentioned, “I aimed to establish a place that carries an enduring, unforced charm, much like the constant flow of the tides.

This expansive residence boasts five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a generous-sized garage capable of accommodating three vehicles.

After examining fifteen possibilities, she instantly recognized that the house she saw online was destined to become her dream home someday. However, there was a close call when she discovered someone else had proposed paying cash for this unique property.

She exclaimed with enthusiasm, “As soon as I saw it from the road, I felt certain – this is my home! I didn’t need to step inside to know.

The opulence of the Palm Beach property is comparable to none, boasting Saturnia marble flooring, grandiose vaulted and multi-level tray ceilings, and a gourmet kitchen equipped with luxurious granite countertops.

Across the house, you’ll find walls adorned with tropical-themed wallpapers, intricately crafted cabinets, an abundance of closets and storage spaces, as well as various window styles that allow ample sunlight to stream in.

The large main bedroom boasts tall ceilings, an indulgent bathroom reminiscent of a spa with both a Jacuzzi and a stand-up shower, and a breathtaking vista of our resort-style garden.

Rachel loves spending time in her spacious backyard, approximately 1.5 acres in size, that offers several covered lounging spots, a well-built barbecue area with a grill, and an inviting inground swimming pool.

Ever since my new neighbor from Alaska moved in, I’ve been utterly captivated by the transformation of our shared backyard! Now, it boasts a pickleball court, an inground trampoline, and even a putting green – quite the upgrade, if I do say so myself! As we speak, I’m busy drafting blueprints to construct a charming carriage house for our guests, as well as an outdoor entertainment area. Can’t wait to see it all come together!

I currently possess a spacious outdoor entertainment zone with a pergola, yet I’m planning to create another similar space. The abundance of potential on this land is exhilarating, and I find it incredibly enjoyable.

Previously, the television reporter also invites her friends over for friendly competition on her pickleball court.

Rachel shared with DailyMail.com that she has taken to a more secluded lifestyle these days. She could comfortably reside in her home without stepping out, yet she frequently hosts guests. She enjoys the company immensely and finds her house spacious yet homely, something she takes pride in. Above all, she feels secure within its walls.

Regarding real estate tips, she shared, ‘My suggestion is simply to choose a place where you truly feel secure and content, as this has proven crucial for me. Since moving to Palm Beach, I have never been more content.’

Did you know that her backyard is filled with various fruit-bearing trees? There are nine coconut palms, two red Abyssinian banana plants, two avocado trees, an olive tree, a mango tree, a lychee tree, and even a jaboticaba tree, also known as the Brazilian grape tree.

Rachel joked about her ability to sustain herself on the land, as she has a bounty of fruit growing in her backyard, which she enjoys picking.

Initially, the transition from New York City to Palm Beach wasn’t straightforward for her. Since her daughter, Wyatt Lily, was still in the sixth grade at the time, they had to wait for her graduation before moving south. This is why she delayed her actual move-in date by a few months.

After that, she needed to establish a child custody arrangement with her former spouse, Matt Hahn, who she divorced in January 2014. They’ve had contentious disagreements in the past.

She shared that achieving that required significant effort. She found it fascinating, and her co-parenting with her former spouse is significantly improved compared to when they lived nearby. Now, they have become much better friends.

Speaking about her daughter’s education post-Covid, Rachel described it as more like a ‘random draw’ or ‘chance-based system’, but fortunately, things have turned out well. Now, Wyatt is just as happy and has even joined a competitive travel volleyball team.

In the past, Rachel and her daughter have visited Palm Beach, as Rachel mentioned that her mother owns a house there on the island, and her grandparents resided in the town of South Florida.

Currently, her primary interests outside of taking care of her child and pets revolve around her podcast titled “Miss Understood with Rachel Uchitel.” Additionally, a significant portion of her time is invested not only in her backyard but also within her home-based recording studio, where she diligently records her episodes.

She revealed that she films at least thrice a week, and the foundation of her work, including her Miss Understood podcast, stems from feelings of misinterpretation. As such, this new phase in her career seems like an entirely fresh chapter for her.

In the half year leading up to my arrival, I planned and initiated the idea of constructing a studio at home. During that time, I was making adjustments to the house and brainstorming ideas for my show. I officially launched my show in March 2023. Since then, I would travel down to the house, utilize the studio, complete some tasks, and then return home.

In the process of expanding her platform, she harbors aspirations to speak with some of her ideal interviewees in the future. This list includes Conrad Murray, Manti Te’o, Armie Hammer, Kamala Harris, and even President-elect Donald Trump, with whom she has had numerous interactions.

As an ardent fan, I can’t contain my excitement! DailyMail.com, you simply have to listen to this – my life has undergone a transformative shift! I’m finally in a state of joy and serenity. That’s the initial piece of the puzzle. The crux of my journey revolves around the potency of second chances, and for me, it was a fresh start, an opportunity to embrace the change and find strength in it instead of fearing it.

She stated, ‘Making the decision to act turned out to be the most rewarding act of faith, as it mirrors the idea of jumping off a cliff and trusting someone will catch you. It’s the initial fear of the jump that truly hinders many people. I am incredibly grateful that I found the courage to initiate these changes in my life.’
