Following the triumph of “Inside Out” in 2015, it was only natural to anticipate a follow-up. Now, Disney+ is considering expanding the franchise, but not through a third film. Instead, they’re planning a spin-off TV series for Disney+, set to debut sometime later.

The announcement regarding the new series was made at D23 in August 2024. While there’s a delay before its release and details about it remain scarce for now, we can’t wait to learn more about the inner workings of Riley’s mind, which is sure to excite kids!

The official title of the series is Dream Productions. It is set to release on Disney+ in 2025.

When is the TV series set in the Inside Out timeline

As reported by TVLine, the upcoming series is expected to be positioned between the two films of “Inside Out”. The initial film centered around a pre-teen girl named Riley who was grappling with the challenges of moving to a new city. The subsequent movie followed older Riley as she faced anxiety about changing schools, being separated from her old friends, and adapting to a new group of friends on a different hockey team while growing up.

The series is planned to delve into the interim period, offering insights about Riley’s circle of friends and providing glimpses of her aspirations leading up to high school.
