Inside Matt Damon’s Rare Family Easter Brunch Amid Filming The Odyssey Madness
Over the Easter holiday, Matt Damon celebrated with his wife of 19 years, Luciana Bozán Barroso, and their three teenage daughters – Stella, Bella, and Gia – at a brunch gathering held at Purdy’s Farmer & the Fish restaurant in North Salem, New York.
In simpler terms, the 54-year-old, who won an Oscar for screenwriting, demonstrated his love for Boston by wearing a Red Sox cap and kept his thick, grey beard during a break from filming Christopher Nolan’s movie version of Homer’s epic poem, The Odyssey.
Or,
The 54-year-old Academy Award-winning screenwriter, who hails from Boston, was spotted wearing a Red Sox cap and sporting his characteristic grey beard during a break in filming Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey on the big screen.
Matt marvels at the fact that Stella is now 14, Bella is 18, and Gia is 16.
According to Damon, he shared with ET last July that it occurs swiftly and strangely. However, it seems to unfold gradually before accelerating quickly yet gracefully.
On October 20th, Bella uploaded a TikTok dance video featuring her daughter Stella, demonstrating her twerking talents, to celebrate Stella’s 14th birthday.
At the family gathering on Sunday, it was Alexia Barroso, the 25-year-old daughter of the 48-year-old Argentinian (ex-wife of Arbello Barroso), who was conspicuously absent. Their marriage concluded in 2004.
Back in 2003, I, a humble bartender in a South Beach Miami nightclub, found myself in an extraordinary encounter. I was still legally tied, but that didn’t stop me from crossing paths with the captivating Stella Artois brand ambassador. He happened to be there, filming the Farrelly Brothers’ comedy, Stuck On You. The moment our eyes met, I felt a spark that transcended the ordinary.
Last year, Barroso, who rarely spends more than two weeks away from Matt, received her initial IMDb credit as an executive producer for the movie “The Instigators,” which was helmed by him.
For the past two decades, I’ve diligently delved into each script and scrutinized every edit of every film. This is the initial instance where we’ve systematically organized this process, as I recently shared with ET.
She shied away from claiming any praise. Instead, she dedicated her presence daily and put in all the hard work on the script.
Currently, the actor featured in Jack Harlow’s music video is taking a pause from filming his part as King Odysseus, the renowned Greek monarch of Ithaca, for Universal Pictures’ upcoming ‘mythical action epic’. This movie is set to premiere in theaters on July 17, 2026.
In simple terms, “The Odyssey” is the third film that Matt has been directed by a 54-year-old Englishman, following the release of the 2023 atomic bomb biopic, “Oppenheimer,” and the 2014 science fiction epic, “Interstellar.
According to The Insider on December 26th, The Odyssey is set to have a whopping $250 million budget, marking the priciest production in Christopher Nolan’s illustrious filmmaking journey so far.
As a die-hard enthusiast, my heart skipped a beat when the principal photography for this incredible IMAX movie officially kicked off on February 25th! The magic will unfold not just here at home, but in Italy, Greece, Morocco, Scotland, Ireland, and across the United Kingdom. I can hardly wait to witness every moment of this global adventure!
In addition to the main cast of The Odyssey, stars such as Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Samantha Morton, Will Yun Lee, and Mia Goth are also part of the production.

Universal’s president of domestic theatrical distribution, Jim Orr, expressed great enthusiasm during Cinemacon last week, stating, “We truly believe this film will be a groundbreaking cinematic achievement that even Homer would find impressive.
In 2000, the Coen Brothers creatively reimagined Homer’s story for a film setting in their humorous musical titled O Brother, Where Art Thou?, featuring George Clooney as one of the main actors.
Additionally, adaptations of The Odyssey include Uberto Pasolini’s 2024 drama “The Return” with Ralph Fiennes in the lead role, as well as a 1997 miniseries by NBC featuring Armand Assante and Mario Camerini’s 1954 film titled “Ulysses,” starring Kirk Douglas.
