Margot Robbie has been turning heads on the press tour of her new movie Wuthering Heights.
But it’s not just the fashion doing the talking – her jewellery has been stealing centre stage.
The jewelry in the film, including a copy of Emily Brontë’s bracelet and Elizabeth Taylor’s famously unlucky necklace, reflects the passionate and dramatic energy of the story.
The movie, featuring Robbie and Jacob Elordi, really emphasizes themes of intense obsession, strong passion, and lavish indulgence.
And judging by the jewels alone, subtlety was never the point.
As a long-time follower of Dawsons Auctioneers, I was really interested to hear Managing Director Jonathan Pratt’s take on how much the key items from the red carpet are worth. He’s given his expert opinion on their value, and it’s fascinating to get his insights!
Cece Jewellery signet rings – $5K
Margot gifted Jacob with matching 18ct gold signet ring for their press tour.
These lovely rings each display a picture of two skeletons holding each other, along with the quote, ‘Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.’
Cece Fein-Hughes, the UK-based designer behind the rings, shared a look at how they were made and posted photos on her social media.
She shared on Instagram how thrilled she was to design coordinating outfits for Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, commemorating their work together as Catherine and Heathcliff in the new adaptation of Wuthering Heights.
Cece Jewellery London’s Fein-Hughes revealed the inscriptions on their hand-enamelled gold rings are actually quotes written by Emily Brontë, the author of Wuthering Heights.
She explained that every aspect of the design was carefully chosen to evoke feelings of love, dedication, and adventure.
These signet rings depict two skull skeletons intertwined with thorns, appearing to embrace forever.
The two signet rings feature the initials of Cathy and Heathcliff, the tragic couple portrayed by Margot and Jacob in the movie.
Oh my gosh, they even put ‘1847-2026’ on it! It’s brilliant! It’s a nod to when Wuthering Heights was first published – 1847, of course – and also to this new movie that just came out! Like, they’re connecting the classic to this amazing reimagining, and it just… gets me! It’s such a perfect little detail, I’m obsessed.
Fein-Hughes explained in a social media post that Margot gifted the artwork to Jacob. It depicts two skeletons mirroring a famous movie poster pose, serving as a subtle message about the enduring nature of love.
She said that as time goes on and things fade, the lasting connection between two people is what truly remains, and included a heart emoji.
Okay, so Jonathan gets it, right? He totally nailed what’s happening with jewelry now. It’s not about chasing whatever’s ‘hot’ this season anymore. It’s about pieces that mean something – things with a story, a hidden meaning, and something you’ll actually want to keep forever. It’s like, finally, jewelry with soul!
People are now more interested in jewelry that feels meaningful and connected to their personal stories – pieces with a history they can share and pass on to future generations.
Signet rings have changed over time. Originally used to show family symbols, they’ve become modern keepsakes that represent personal meaning, and growing popularity shows this change is happening now.
Although the precise value of these custom rings isn’t clear, comparable signet rings from Cece Jewellery generally sell for between $5,000 and $7,500.
Elizabeth Taylor’s Taj Mahal necklace – Over $7.7M
As a style expert, I have to say Margot absolutely stunned at the LA premiere! She didn’t just wear jewelry – she wore a piece of history. It’s one of the most important and remarkable pieces ever seen on a red carpet, and it really made her look unforgettable.
This diamond originated in the early 1600s and was given to Mughal Empress Nur Jahan as a present from her husband, Emperor Jehangir.
It was later passed down to their son, Shah Jahan, who gifted it to his wife Mumtaz Mahal.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! It has an inscription in Persian, and it actually says Nur Jahan’s name! But the best part? The message… it’s usually translated as ‘Love is Everlasting’! Can you even imagine? It’s just… perfect. It proves everything I’ve always known – their love was truly timeless!
Originally used as a protective amulet, the diamond was later incorporated into a stunning necklace created by Cartier, featuring rubies and gold.
It was at the time purchased by Richard Burton for Elizabeth Taylor in 1972 as a birthday gift.
Oh my gosh, you guys, Tim Mendelson, who works with the Elizabeth Taylor estate, told me the most amazing thing! He said that Elizabeth truly understood what jewelry meant, and that the Taj Mahal Diamond… well, it wasn’t just a diamond to her. It represented a love that was HUGE, unforgettable, and totally dramatic – a love that even went beyond life itself! It was the most special piece in her entire collection, connected to a love story for the ages, apparently. I just knew that diamond was special!
Jonathan explained the pendant’s value comes from its connection to famous figures. Richard Burton famously gave it to Elizabeth Taylor as a 40th birthday gift in Budapest in 1972, which made the necklace a modern symbol of glamour and romance.
The gift was initially valued between $470,000 and $520,000. However, when it was auctioned at Christie’s New York in 2011, it sold for $8,818,500.
When a celebrity wears a historical jewel, it’s like a temporary public exhibit – seen by a huge audience, photographed and shared repeatedly, and then safely returned to its secure storage.
Jewelry, especially pieces associated with famous fashion designers or iconic movies and Hollywood, can be very valuable.
Lorraine Schwartz choker – $2.7M
Margot showcased a dazzling piece of jewellery at the premiere of Wuthering Heights in Paris.
The Australian actress wore a stunning diamond necklace by Lorraine Schwartz, with the stones totaling over 100 carats.
Margot Robbie dazzled at the premiere wearing over 100 carats of custom-made champagne-colored diamond jewelry, according to the brand’s Instagram post. They described her look as stunning.
Jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz shared on Instagram that she created a beautiful, 100-carat diamond choker and earrings for Margot Robbie, calling the actress ‘amazing and stunning’.
Jonathan estimates the jewelry’s value at between $2.7 and $4 million, considering the high quality of the diamonds, the designer’s reputation, and the publicity it has received.
‘These are pieces that sit comfortably alongside museum-grade jewels and private collections.’
Jessica McCormack pendant and ring – $750,000
During the global junket for the photocall, Margot wore a Jessica McCormack pendant and ring.
The pendant featured a 10.07-carat pear-shaped diamond. It was set in a vintage-inspired mounting of 18-karat white and rose gold, with a blackened finish.
While the exact cost is unknown, it’s estimated to be around $750,000.
Margot teamed the look with a bespoke ruby and diamond chubby daisy ring.
This ring features a 1.43-carat round brilliant cut diamond as its centerpiece, accented by a halo of smaller round brilliant cut diamonds.
It’s in a talon setting in 18K blackened white gold & yellow gold.
The ring is estimated at $68K.
Jessica McCormack earrings – $19K
I was so excited to see Margot Robbie on Jimmy Kimmel last month, and honestly, I was immediately distracted by her jewelry! She was wearing the most gorgeous earrings – I later found out they were by Jessica McCormack, and now I need a pair!
She donned pear-shaped diamond gypset hoop earrings with two 7.50ct Pear-shaped Diamonds.
These diamonds are mounted in a vintage-inspired setting crafted from 18-karat white and yellow gold with a darkened finish.
These have an estimated value of $19K.
Jessica McCormack pearl and diamond earrings – $8K
For another publicity event for the film, Margot Robbie wore pearl and diamond earrings by jewelry designer Jessica McCormack.
These earrings feature a shortened hoop design adorned with two rows of round-cut diamonds. They also include two removable, pear-shaped freshwater pearl drops, each measuring 14.5mm.
They are set in a Georgian style cut-down setting in 18K blackened white gold & yellow gold.
The earrings cost $8K.
Charlotte Brontë replica mourning bracelet – $27K
During the UK premiere of the movie, Margot wore a replica of Charlotte Brontë’s mourning bracelet.
Dilara Findikoglu’s design was inspired by an original bracelet crafted from hand-woven hair, believed to be from her sisters Emily and Anne.
It was commissioned by Margot’s stylist Andrew Mukamal, for wearing on the red carpet.
Robin Wright, managing director of Wyedean, who worked with Mukamal and the Brontë Parsonage on the project, said they were amazed by the bracelet’s popularity after Margot Robbie wore it. The bracelet was made in Haworth, and the silverwork was done by McCarty London.
Our team is thrilled to see how much of a difference the bracelet has made. We really went above and beyond, utilizing every resource we had, to design and create it in just four weeks.
The completed bracelet features three colors and 280 woven strands, carefully designed to resemble the look and feel of real hair.
It’s then fitted into the clasp pieces created, carved and set by McCarty London.
While it’s unknown what the repplica costs, the original is thought to be around $27K.
