Inside Kris Jenner’s extremely risky surgery to transform the only remaining part of her body that betrays her true age

While Kris Jenner is known for looking youthful, doctors caution that attempting to reverse aging in other ways could pose significant health risks.

Kris Jenner, age 70, recently showed off the results of her $100,000 facelift. However, some recent photos highlighting her wrinkled hands – which are often a sign of someone’s actual age, as it’s hard to alter hands with surgery – have led to rumors she’s considering another major cosmetic procedure.

Doctors are warning the Daily Mail that trying a DIY ‘hand lift’ – a procedure people attempt to reduce wrinkles and sagging skin – can be seriously dangerous, potentially causing lasting harm.

Dr. John Diaz, a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, explained that the hand contains many critical nerves, tendons, and blood vessels, and injury to these structures can cause significant disability.

He warned that even a small surgical misstep could have devastating consequences.

Diaz explained that these injuries can lead to lasting finger numbness, difficulty bending or moving the fingers, and, in severe cases, even tissue damage.

Recently, photos surfaced of Jenner in St. Barts without the gloves she’d been wearing for months. The pictures revealed a noticeable difference between her hands and her face, which appeared to have undergone recent cosmetic work.

It was a striking contrast: their face and neck showed smooth, youthful skin, while their hands clearly showed the effects of time and work.

Soon after the unflattering photos appeared, reports surfaced suggesting Jenner was considering a dangerous and excessively self-focused procedure.

According to a source, Jenner has been researching potential surgical options.

Although experts agree the photos weren’t very flattering, they warn that getting cosmetic surgery to fix the perceived issues could be very expensive and risky.

According to Dr. Ariel Ostad, a leading cosmetic dermatologist and facial surgeon in New York, the most severe potential outcome is loss of movement.

He explained that, like all cosmetic procedures, there are some risks involved, and these risks tend to increase as people get older.

Ostad explained that age-related complications make hand surgery particularly precarious.

He explained that older patients may experience slower healing, a higher chance of infection, longer-lasting swelling, scarring, altered skin sensitivity, and potential problems with blood vessels.

Jenner herself may already be keenly aware of the scrutiny surrounding her hands.

At her extravagant 70th birthday party in November, she debuted a refreshed appearance, but wore long black gloves that covered her hands and arms.

Dr. Diaz suggests that someone like Kris Jenner could see positive results from hand rejuvenation, as she’s around the age of patients who often get this procedure.

He then broke down exactly why the hands tend to betray age so dramatically.

He explained there are two key changes that happen with age. Firstly, as tissue decreases, tendons and blood vessels become more noticeable. Secondly, the skin itself changes, leading to darker patches and age spots.

Jenner’s hands have sparked surgery speculation before.

In 2016, she shared a photo on Instagram of a badly bandaged hand, which quickly led to speculation about what she’d had done.

At the time, many assumed the injury was cosmetic and the image quickly made the rounds online.

Her team later insisted the procedure was medically necessary – not aesthetic.

Years later, the conversation reignited.

I remember back in October when everyone on Reddit started talking about Kendall Jenner! A thread called ‘Hands don’t lie’ blew up because people noticed, in a photo of her at a table, that her hands looked… different. It really got people talking, and honestly, I totally saw what they meant!

‘Watch her start wearing gloves now!! New fashion statement,’ one user joked.

Another added, ‘Madonna wears them too. The hands don’t match the face.’

Despite the speculation, both doctors cautioned that surgery may not be the smartest option.

Just because someone is older doesn’t automatically mean they’re at higher risk from a procedure,” explained Ostad. “Their general health, skin condition, lifestyle, and how the treatment is performed are all important factors. This is often why gentler, less invasive treatments are a better choice for older individuals.

Diaz agreed – and revealed his safer alternative.

I like to restore volume and improve skin texture,” he explained. “This often involves using either the patient’s own fat or fillers to plump up areas under the skin, and then using a CO2 laser to address issues with skin texture and color.

The goal, he explained, is rejuvenation without risking function.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Kris Jenner recently had a facelift done by Dr. Steven M. Levine, a well-known celebrity surgeon. Jenner herself said she felt it was time to ‘refresh’ her look.

In a recent interview with Vogue Arabia, Kendall Jenner revealed she had a facelift around 15 years ago and decided to get it refreshed. She explained her decision, saying she wants to feel like her best self, which is what ultimately makes her happy.

During a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kris Jenner playfully suggested her nose might be the only genuinely unedited part of her face. Her daughter, Kim Kardashian, quickly responded, assuring her that her teeth were still her natural ones.

Certainly, Jenner is no stranger to cosmetic procedures.

In addition to a facelift, she’s had several cosmetic procedures over the years, including Botox, a breast augmentation in the 1980s, earlobe surgery in 2018, and a difficult hip replacement in 2022.

However, specialists caution that trying to make her hands look younger could have a seriously damaging effect – a consequence that money can’t fix.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Jenner for comment.
