Inside Jamie Oliver’s incredible car collection as millionaire chef auctions off three of his beloved vintage motors… including a classic VW that comes with very special extra
As an ardent admirer of Jamie Oliver, I can’t help but feel a mix of awe and concern for the man who has made cooking accessible and enjoyable for millions. His journey from humble beginnings to the culinary titan he is today is nothing short of remarkable. The man can whip up a meal that makes your taste buds dance, all while keeping it healthy and simple!
Jamie Oliver recently sold three cherished classic cars from his collection – among them were a Ford Capri, a Volkswagen Beetle, and a Fiat.
The millionaire chef who is 49 years old is putting up for sale his cherished 1970 Ford Capri 3000GT, a vehicle he often relies on that made an appearance on Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast.
He acquired the Capri in June 2014 and spent an estimated £20,000 on restoring it, with the classic car expected to commandeer between £22,000 and £26,000 at auction.
In 2012, a 1955 Fiat 1100/103 Series was purchased by Oliver. This vintage vehicle features its authentic license plate ‘677 YUM.’ It will be auctioned off with no minimum bid required.
Among the three vehicles on sale, it’s hard to miss the unique charm of a 1967 VW Beetle 1500 convertible, boasting an extraordinary accessory that stands out.
The vehicle sports a unique, mobile ice cream stand tailored for use at gatherings, which roughly equates to its worth being comparable to a Ford Capri.
I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be participating in a Classic Car Auction on September 28, taking place at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire. Can’t wait to see the vehicles go under the hammer!
Jamied, well-known automobile enthusiast, proudly declares himself a devotee of Land Rover vehicles. In 2017, he formed an alliance with the manufacturer, transforming a seven-seater Discovery sports utility vehicle into a functional kitchen for his Food Tube channel series, which showcased this unique creation.
I proudly boast that I’m one of its fortunate owners – the iconic Land Rover Defender off-roader, a beloved ride among my fellow Brits.
Besides being a renowned chef, this celebrity figure has also had the pleasure of owning luxury vehicles such as a Maserati, Porsche Cayenne, and a Volkswagen camper van in the past.
On his wife Jools’ birthday, he purchased a 1967 Mustang for her. Later, during the holidays, he had it repainted in a glossy black finish and added flames down the sides as an additional gift.
The individual had previously purchased a Ford Fiesta 950 following his employment at The Cricketers pub located in Clavering, Essex; this was his inaugural car.
Having a reported net worth of approximately £150 million, Oliver has been able to indulge in his passion for acquiring classic cars, a hobby that took off following his debut on the culinary scene with the 1999 series “The Naked Chef.
Over the past 25 years, Jamie Oliver has become widely recognized as a prominent television chef, having published multiple cookbooks during that time.
Nevertheless, even though he seems to thrive on high-speed living, evident in his impressive car collection, he’s encountered some significant obstacles throughout his journey.
In April, his Channel 4 series on air fryer cooking didn’t resonate well with viewers, who felt it was quite distant from reality.
In the United Kingdom, the debut of the show titled “Jamie’s Air Fryer Meals” aired, but contrary to the impressive air fryer that the 48-year-old presents, it didn’t spark much excitement among viewers.
To start off this two-part cooking show, the TV chef, who had previously expressed doubt about air fryers, presented a variety of recipes: a dish combining prosciutto and fish, a roasted chicken with curry, and a dessert featuring baked peaches and Alaska.
In an article for The Guardian, Lucy Mangan commented on the show: ‘Jamie Oliver seems to have hopped aboard the culinary trend in these two parts that are surprisingly awkward. One might think he would grow weary of his own routine by now.’
In Jamie’s most recent project, there are merely two episodes available so far, and it seems that the storyline is becoming drawn out even before the completion of the first episode.
Simultaneously, Benji Wilson raised doubts about the ethical implications of the television program’s partnership with Tefal through product placement.
In simpler terms, what you’re suggesting is that Jamie’s Air Fryer Meals promoted by Tefal can essentially be seen as an advertisement for Tefal’s Air Fryer, and it could even be labeled as ‘Tefal’s Air Fryer Meals with Jamie.’ The issue here is whether this arrangement raises any concerns.
