Inside George Clooney's own bid to become How actor used his 'calculated' anti-Biden op-ed and endorsement of Kamala to try and launch his own political career

As a seasoned political observer with a keen interest in American politics, I find myself deeply moved by the unfolding saga of President Biden and his recent challenges. Having closely followed Biden’s career since his days as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, it is evident to me that we are witnessing a unique and poignant moment in history.

George Clooney recently expressed his backing for Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign, roughly two weeks following his public critique of President Joe Biden through a critical opinion piece suggesting he should withdraw from the race.

In the previous month, the 63-year-old actor, married to renowned global human rights attorney Amal Clooney (age 46), expressed gratitude towards President Biden (age 81) for protecting our democratic system. He was referring to this when he publicly endorsed the president’s vice president.

Clooney stated that he was excited for Harris, 59, and her ‘historic quest’ to win the upcoming election.

According to Democratic Party insiders, George Clooney’s current engagement in the presidential campaign appears to be strategically planned, potentially paving the way for a future bid for the White House.

George’s approval of Kamala appears strategically planned. He himself might be considering a presidential bid in the future, and he’s backed by one of the most influential Democratic figures globally – Barack Obama.

According to the source, he’s aiming for a potential Senate position in 2026 and is expected to earn more admiration within the Democratic party.

The actor from Ocean’s Eleven voiced his endorsement for Harris following his publication of a critical editorial in the New York Times, suggesting that Biden should withdraw from the 2024 presidential contest against Donald Trump, who was then 78 years old.

As a committed supporter, I’d rephrase it like this: “Within the Democratic party, there was a significant effort to have Biden step down from his campaign. A pivotal event, comparable to a domino being flipped, propelled me into a new political sphere,” a government insider disclosed.

Previously, Biden acknowledged Clooney’s backing by inviting him to the White House for the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony held in December 2022.

As a devoted supporter, I’ve found myself playing a significant role within the Democratic Party over time, contributing millions to its nominees. My voice carries weight in American politics, making me perceived as an influential figure.

2006 marked the beginning of Clooney’s humanitarian work, as he spoke to the United Nations Security Council following a visit to the drought-affected region of Darfur in Sudan. In recognition of his efforts, he received the 2007 Peace Summit Award the following year.

In the year 2010, George joined forces with the United Nations, Harvard University, and Google to initiate the Satellite Sentinel Project.

As a seasoned humanitarian worker who has seen firsthand the devastating effects of political unrest and terrorism on civilians, I wholeheartedly support the use of private satellites to monitor potential threats to innocent people and detect explosives. The recipient of the 2010 Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award for his contributions in this area has my utmost respect and admiration. Their work not only saves lives but also brings hope to those living in conflict zones, giving them a chance to rebuild their communities and live in peace. This is a cause that I am passionate about, as I have witnessed the transformative power of such efforts in my own work on the ground.

2012 saw George and his father peacefully protesting at the Sudanese Embassy in Washington D.C., with the aim of raising global awareness about the human rights abuses taking place in Sudan.

In 2016, George and his spouse Amal established the Clooney Foundation for Justice, a charity dedicated to ending global human rights violations. Their focus includes initiatives aimed at dismantling entrenched injustices within vulnerable populations.

The foundation was showcased at the 2016 United Nations Summit hosted by former president Obama.

Over several years, this Academy Award-winning actor has appeared before Congress, collaborated with multiple Secretaries of State, numerous senators, and various U.S. Presidents – cultivating a particularly strong bond with the Obamas, Barack and Michelle.

A well-connected source revealed to DailyMail.com that the close relationship George shares with Obama is instrumental in bringing him into the limelight of politics.

‘Obama’s backing for George is evidence that Clooney is being groomed for a future in politics.

‘It’s clear to all that George exerts significant influence, and this is particularly noticeable when he’s accompanied by Amal,’ the source added.

The one thing that Clooney does not have, however, is experience in office.

The source noted that, just like Trump, George lacks prior combat experience and hasn’t held public office before.

As someone who has struggled financially at times in my life, I can empathize with George’s situation. Having money and influence certainly provides a sense of security, knowing that you have the means to take care of yourself if necessary. However, it’s important to remember that wealth and power don’t always equate to happiness or fulfillment. Life is about finding balance, making meaningful connections, and using resources wisely to make a positive impact on the world around us.

In the opinion piece, Clooney criticized Democratic leaders for disregarding all indications of President Biden’s deteriorating physical and cognitive abilities, as well as attempting to justify his poor performance in the debate with Trump.

‘George was instrumental in forcing Biden out; he initiated the move with Obama’s backing and advice, as our source explained to DailyMail.com.’

In simpler terms, Ben Shapiro, one of Obama’s top advisors, suggested that Biden should resign before George (presumably a different person) did, but this suggestion didn’t gain much attention. However, George decided to write an opinion piece because they were aware that it would attract more attention.

‘He had nothing to lose and everything to gain,’ the insider added.

15th of June, three weeks before the publication of the op-ed, saw George Clooney hosting an unprecedented fundraiser for Biden that amassed a staggering sum of $28 million.

In an endorsement for Harris on CNN, Clooney expressed reconciliation towards Biden and simultaneously voiced his backing for Harris.

The speaker stated that President Biden demonstrates authentic leadership, as he’s working tirelessly to safeguard democracy once more.

“I’m thrilled to join in any way I can, lending my support to Vice President Harris as she embarks on this remarkable journey.”

Facing intense pressure from the Democratic Party, Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday.

In a post on social media, President Biden revealed a significant move in a single-page letter, emphasizing that it was for the nation’s benefit that he resign, effective immediately. However, he pledged to fulfill his duties until the conclusion of his current term in January.

Over the past month, there has been growing pressure on the President to resign, following a disappointing debate with Trump that sparked widespread criticism.

As a diehard supporter, I can’t help but feel that George Clooney’s op-ed on July 10 was the nail in the coffin for President Biden. In his piece, he poignantly pointed out that our leader, despite his best efforts, might not be able to triumph over the relentless ticking of the clock.

“I have great admiration for Joe Biden. Whether as a senator, vice president, or president, I consider him a friend and have faith in him. I trust his character and morals. Over the past four years, he’s proven himself by winning numerous challenges he’s encountered.” – Clooney.

As a seasoned observer of politics and a witness to the evolution of many public figures over the years, I can attest that the relentless march of time takes its toll on all of us. The Joe Biden I knew three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the same vibrant, assertive, and charismatic figure I had encountered in 2010 or even 2020. He seemed to be struggling with the passage of time, a battle that none of us can ultimately win.

Clooney mentioned that he’s been hearing these concerns from various Congress members he’s talked to, with a shared apprehension that the Democratic Party might lose control over both the House and the Senate.

Based on my extensive conversations with senators, congress members, and governors, both private and public, I firmly believe that we will not emerge victorious in November with this current president leading our party. Not only do I hold this conviction, but every single one of these high-ranking officials I’ve spoken to share the same sentiment. In my long years of political experience, I have yet to encounter a more unanimous agreement among such influential figures.

Biden and Clooney share a deep-rooted connection, stemming from Biden’s tenure as the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. While working on humanitarian concerns in Darfur, Clooney established a bond with him.

George Clooney expressed that prioritizing the defeat of Donald Trump in November held greater significance compared to maintaining Joe Biden on the ticket.

In simpler terms, the author suggests that instead of claiming ’51 million people missed out on what we just witnessed’, our party leaders should acknowledge the widespread fear of another Trump presidency, which might explain why some people are choosing to overlook obvious warnings.

Biden and Clooney have also hit some bumps in their relationship.

In early June, it was said that the actor became extremely angry when Biden criticized Amal Clooney’s effort to imprison the Israeli Prime Minister, which had been underway at the White House.

Last month, I endorsed a proposal by the International Criminal Court’s Chief Prosecutor, aiming to apprehend Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leaders for alleged war crimes. The President labeled this action as ‘unacceptable.’

Clooney reportedly called one of Biden’s closest advisers to make his feelings known.

But he still hosted a fundraiser – along with actress Julia Roberts and Obama – that helped to raise millions for Biden’s campaign.

Despite the fundraiser, there was an overwhelming focus on the president’s health following a video that seemed to depict Obama assisting Biden in exiting the stage.

In the video, Biden and Obama can be spotted grinning and waving as they receive a thunderous applause at the Peacock Theater in downtown LA.

Biden gives a round of applause, thumbs-up to the audience, but afterward, he remains motionless, gazing intently at the crowd for quite some time.
