Inside Eminem’s ex-wife’s secretive new life as she makes ultra rare trip out for Thanksgiving… just six miles from rapper’s mansion

I’ve followed Kim Scott’s story for years, and it’s incredibly inspiring to hear she’s doing so much better. She’s been so brave sharing her struggles with addiction and even talking about the really dark times she went through. The Daily Mail reports that she’s now sober and seems to be enjoying a peaceful, private life, and honestly, that just makes me so happy for her.

Exclusive photos in the Daily Mail show the mother of four looking tired as she arrived back at her Detroit, Michigan home after grocery shopping for Thanksgiving.

Fifty-year-old Scott looked burdened as she carried a heavy load, dressed in baggy pants, a vintage Von Dutch hat, and a hoodie. She appeared serious and strained.

Scott and her rapper ex-husband live only six miles apart. They had a famously on-again, off-again relationship, marrying twice – first in 1999 and then again in 2006.

Both of his marriages ended quickly. He and his first wife had one daughter together, Hailee Jade, who recently became a mother herself, welcoming a son named Elliot Marshall McClintock earlier this year.

I’ve always admired how Eminem took Stevie, who’s 23 and identifies as non-binary – she’s Kim’s daughter from before they were married – and really made her part of the family. He also stepped up for Alaina, who’s 32, taking her in back in the early 2000s when her mom, Dawn, was struggling with addiction. It’s just amazing to see how he’s built this incredibly supportive family around him.

In a 2004 interview with Rolling Stone, the man described himself as the sole guardian of his niece, explaining that she had been in his life since birth.

‘Me and Kim pretty much had her, she’d live with us wherever we was at.’

Even though their marriage was difficult, Eminem – whose full name is Marshall Mathers III – and his ex-wife Kim Scott are still on good terms. They both attended their daughter Hailie Jade’s wedding in May 2024.

Scott now enjoys a peaceful life with her son, Parker, in her $400,000 ranch house. Parker was born after her second divorce from Eminem.

She now enjoys a calm life, a huge change from the difficult childhood and chaotic public attention she experienced during the peak of her rapper ex-husband’s career.

The 50-year-old served as inspiration for many of Eminem’s songs, including the controversial tracks ‘Kim’ and ‘Love The Way You Lie,’ which weren’t always about positive experiences.

Both individuals have admitted to using drugs during their marriages, and Scott has repeatedly faced legal issues – notably, he was arrested in 2000 for causing a disturbance after a fight with a rapper outside a nightclub.

In 2015, Scott was arrested after a drunk driving incident involving her Cadillac Escalade, which she later revealed was a suicide attempt.

‘It was intentional,’ Scott admitted on Detroit’s Channel 995 radio show Mojo in the Morning.

‘I never expected to make it out alive.’

She later remembered driving to a secluded road, intending to harm herself. She admitted to drinking alcohol, taking pills, and then deliberately crashing her car into a pole, ensuring no one else would be injured.

She was given a year of probation, had to pay a fine, and was required to attend therapy to address her mental health issues.

In 2022, Scott shared that she tried to end her life again after the passing of her mother, Kathy Sluck.

A 911 call from July 2022 included a report from one of Scott’s children who discovered their sibling unconscious, covered in blood and pills, in the bathroom.

When emergency personnel arrived at the home, they found Scott acting aggressively and violently, and she had several minor cuts on the back of her leg.

The police report stated that Scott was discovered on the bathroom floor, bleeding heavily, and clutching an object that officers couldn’t immediately identify.

According to the report, she tried to hit the officer who responded to the scene. She also seemed to have trouble speaking clearly, slurred her words, and her level of alertness went up and down.

Investigators also found a box with notes Kim had written to her family, which appeared disorganized, and a document stating she didn’t want to be revived if her heart stopped.

Following that incident, Scott spent 45 days in rehab. In 2023, she told the US Sun that she is now doing well.

It’s been a difficult decade, as she’s lost her mother, father, and sister. Despite this, she’s doing well and has been sober since around October. She completed a 45-day program at Jefferson House for recovery.
