Inside Delta Goodrem’s wild wedding reception as she shows off dazzling second dress… and rocks out to surprise entrance song with husband Matthew Copley

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share some enchanting details about my recent nuptials with the extraordinary Matthew Copley. We exchanged vows in a dreamlike setting on the picturesque island of Malta just last month.

The forty-year-old singer shone brightly as she displayed her second gown during a lively night of celebration following her wedding at the ancient St. Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina, where she exchanged vows.

The gorgeous dress she wore for the reception was created by Con Ilio, a fashion designer specializing in evening and bridal wear, who is based in Melbourne.

Delta’s second glance revealed a stunning, long, bead-embellished wedding gown that draped off her shoulders and had a deep v-neckline.

The dress featured a fitted, corset-style top that expanded into a style resembling the letter ‘A’, or an A-line, as the singer and her newlywed spouse stepped into their celebration, accompanied by AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” playing in the background.

As an ardent admirer, nothing quite makes me feel like royalty like Con’s designs, but imagine strutting into a grand ballroom to the thunderous beats of ACDC’s ‘Thunderstruck’ and being the last one left dancing long past midnight – that’s the kind of magic he weaves!” (Instagram post)

The delight of today is indescribable! A big thank you to everyone joining in the festivities, for the unexpected shows, heartfelt speeches, and choreographed dances.

The newlyweds celebrated their wedding at the gorgeous Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar.

Originally built as a hunting lodge in 1733, this location was previously recognized as both Scicluna Palace and Palazzo Scicluna.

In the year 1898, the luxurious 18th-century palace was bought by the affluent Maltese banker, Marquis Giuseppe Scicluna. He then proceeded to refurbish and adorn the palace with grandeur and opulence.

Upon entering the grand building through its large, ornate bronze doors, one truly appreciates its size. Inside, you’re greeted by soaring, arched ceilings and a stunning, expansive marble staircase that stretches gracefully upwards.

It’s often referred to as a smaller replica of the renowned French palace, Versailles, which was built during the reign of King Louis XIV.

The beautiful interior adorned with frescoes, statues, columns, and artwork makes it quite understandable as to why it’s so appealing.

The grand palace features a stunning ballroom in the Rococo style, adorned with gold and boasting magnificent bronzed chandeliers. This room is also graced by intricately designed, gold-framed mirrors, reminiscent of the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles.

Delta shared a first look at her lavish wedding with Vogue Australia this week.

In June 2025, the husband and wife experienced something even more enchanting than either of them had ever imagined, as expressed by Delta in a heartfelt Instagram post.

She went on to say, “We exchanged our vows beneath the clear skies of Malta, as if a magical family storybook wedding unfolded all around us, with countless helpers contributing to the enchantment.

We cherish every recollection from that time – the affection, the joyful chuckles, the tearful smiles during happy moments, and the dancing that lasted until the first light of dawn.

In a stunning design by the talented Paul Vasileff from South Australia, Delta initially wore a wedding dress featuring an off-the-shoulder style and a provocative, heart-shaped neckline, reminiscent of a sweetheart cut.

The French tulle gown featured gorgeous lattice detailing and a two-and-a-half metre train.

Delta mentioned that she collaborated with the designer for a period of about three months to design a dress that was incredibly unique and exceptionally meaningful to her.

As soon as I became engaged, Paul and I forged a connection, and from that moment on, we delved into collaborative efforts right away – this is how I recall our experience in creating that magnificent masterpiece, as I shared with Vogue.

The dress, painstakingly crafted over approximately 500 hours, incorporated elements symbolizing the couple’s love story, such as their wedding date, a pair of swans, and cherubs subtly sewn into the material.
