Inside D4vd’s family as mom turns up at gun shop and tensions flare over girl’s dismembered body in singer’s Tesla

The mother of singer D4vd has been seen shopping at a pawn and gun store in Texas. This is the first time she’s been publicly seen since police found the remains of a missing teenager in her son’s abandoned car.

On Thursday afternoon, 49-year-old Colleen Roberts Burke was photographed by the Daily Mail leaving a pawn shop near Houston. She was holding an owner’s manual for an AR-15 rifle.

The mother of three was seen leaving the store, looking upset as she stared at her phone. She was wearing black sweatpants and a grey t-shirt with the phrase ‘Send Noods’ printed on the front. A tall man with a beard, wearing a white t-shirt, appeared to be accompanying her.

Just moments later, another photo showed Burke outside the store, pacing while talking on her cellphone. She leaned against a stone pillar, looking worried, with one hand on her hip.

It’s unknown whether she bought anything in the store. She hasn’t replied to a request for comment from the Daily Mail.

These are the first photos of D4vd’s mother to emerge since his involvement in a Los Angeles murder investigation. The investigation began after the remains of missing teenager Celeste Rivas were found on September 8th.

I can’t even *begin* to explain how worried I am about this. It’s just awful. Poor Rivas, she was only 13 when she disappeared from Lake Elsinore back in May. And now, everything I’m reading… it’s just heartbreaking. Apparently, she met D4vd – David Burke, you know, the singer – online when she was like, eleven or twelve years old! People close to her are saying they were… involved. It’s just so messed up, a grown man and a little girl. I’m just sick about it all and desperately hoping she’s found safe.

He has not been charged with any crime in relation to her death.

According to Matthew Rivas, the brother of the missing woman, their family knew she had been in a relationship. They also shared with TMZ that she had been dating someone named David prior to her disappearance. Matthew stated that on the day his sister went missing, she left to go to the movies with D4vd and hasn’t been seen since.

Since investigators identified the remains as Rivas, both Burke and her 20-year-old son have stopped responding to all attempts to contact them. The artist hasn’t been seen for several weeks, and neither she nor her son have responded to repeated requests for comment from the Mail.

Pictures have been circulating on social media suggesting that D4vd and Rivas were together around the time the girl disappeared. However, the Los Angeles Police Department hasn’t confirmed any direct link between them yet.

D4vd has mentioned in past interviews that his mother played a key role in helping him begin his music career.

Born in Queens, New York, he grew up in Houston, Texas, where his family homeschooled him with a strong emphasis on religion.

I remember when D4vd first started putting videos online – he was a huge Fortnite player, just like so many of us! He’d spend hours making these awesome montages of his gameplay, but it was so frustrating because YouTube kept taking them down. Apparently, the music he used triggered copyright claims, which was a real bummer for him and all his fans.

Burke motivated her son to create his own music for the videos, and he eventually started recording songs in his sister’s closet using apps on his phone.

Before becoming famous, D4vd posted his music on Soundcloud. In 2022, his song Romantic Homicide became incredibly popular on TikTok, launching his career.

The song explores themes of heartache, detachment and the death of a relationship.

Some of the lyrics read: ‘In the back of my mind, you died / and I didn’t even cry.’

Ever since Rivas was found, fans and online investigators have been discussing what D4vd’s songs are about, especially the often disturbing and violent scenes in his music videos.

He shared in an interview with the Zach Sang show that his mother disliked his song “Romantic Homicide” due to its violent content.

He described playing a song for a woman who strongly disliked it. She reacted negatively, telling him, “David, this song is too violent. You’re talking about killing people – I don’t want my son listening to this.”

According to public records, Burke has worked for banks and mortgage companies in the past. She’s also been associated with several limited liability companies, including one called D4vd Entertainment.

D4vd has at least two younger siblings, and he hasn’t spoken publicly about his father.

During D4vd’s US tour, police discovered the remains of a person, later identified as Rivas, inside his vehicle.

A spokesperson said they had been told about the finding and were working with investigators, offering full cooperation.

Rivas was officially identified a week after she went missing. Investigators determined the remains found near her birthday – just a day after she would have turned fifteen – were badly decomposed and dismembered.

Investigators said she had ‘Shhh…’ tattooed on her right index finger, matching one D4vd has.

Honestly, after that last show, everything just… stopped. His whole tour was just quietly cancelled, and then he completely disappeared! It’s so frustrating! And get this – he’s hired Blair Berk, one of the *best* lawyers in Hollywood. But she hasn’t said a *word* to the press, which is just making me even more worried and obsessed with finding out what’s going on. It’s like a total blackout!

The LAPD didn’t respond when asked on Wednesday if D4vd was still working with detectives on the case.

The location of D4vd is currently unknown. However, the Daily Mail photographed two masked men on Thursday outside the $4.1 million Hollywood Hills house where he was recently living, shortly after his disappearance was noticed.

Two large individuals, seemingly security guards, were stationed outside the house while a moving company took out boxes and furniture.

Just a week before, the Los Angeles Police Department’s homicide detectives searched the house, looking for any blood or other clues related to Rivas being missing.

I’m still waiting for an update, but the department did say they’ve collected several pieces of evidence and are currently analyzing them. It’s frustrating not knowing the specifics, but at least they’re working on it!

The Daily Mail reported that D4vd was renting a Los Angeles apartment for $20,000 a month, but the lease was actually under the name of his manager, Josh Marshall.

I was really shocked to hear that Marshall suddenly ended their lease last week, especially after the police raid. Mr. Trifunovic, the property owner, shared this news with the Daily Mail just the other day.

Trifunovic stated he wasn’t aware the artist was living at the property until recently. Marshall then contacted him, explaining he needed to terminate their contract due to the current investigation.

Trifunovic explained that those involved no longer wished to remain, and he was deeply disturbed by the raid and the possibility his home was connected to Rivas’ death.

No arrests have been made, and no suspects or persons of interest have been publicly named.

Approached for comment on Thursday night, the LAPD responded simply: ‘No updates.’

People with knowledge of the investigation shared with Good Morning America on Friday that they’re waiting for the complete autopsy results on Rivas’ remains, but the investigation may take weeks or months to finish.

Police discovered human remains at a Hollywood tow yard after responding to reports of a bad smell from the front trunk of a black Tesla Model Y. The car, registered to an individual named D4vd, had been towed two days prior.

Inside, the remains were wrapped in plastic.

The car was found a few blocks from the rental home that was then raided.

Police haven’t determined when or how Rivas died, but her body was badly decomposed, suggesting she had been dead for a while and didn’t reach her 15th birthday.

I’ve been following this case *so* closely, and honestly, it’s heartbreaking. Apparently, one of the Daily Mail’s people said she was still reaching out to her friends – texting and calling – for over a year after everyone thought she was gone. Can you imagine? Then, just…nothing. They said all communication just stopped, sometime in late July or early August. It’s like she vanished all over again, but even more suddenly. It’s terrifying!

As a longtime follower of legal cases, I was really surprised to read what Neama Rahmani, a former DOJ prosecutor, had to say about the situation with D4vd. She described the case as ‘staggering’ and frankly, I agree – I’m shocked that authorities haven’t taken action yet. It seems like a really clear-cut situation, and I’m eager to see what happens next.

Discovering a body in someone’s car is always a serious issue, and it becomes even more troubling when the body has been dismembered. This is especially true given all the other details that have come to light in this case,” he stated on Wednesday.

I’m surprised no one has been arrested yet, but I believe that will happen very soon – it’s only a matter of time.
