When it comes to life on the road, it appears that Chappell Roan is not one to do things by halves.
The artist behind the song “Good Luck, Babe” is currently performing at the Laneway Festival across Australia, with shows scheduled in cities like the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.
The American pop star’s current tour is known for its incredibly detailed and impressive production, even surprising experienced festival professionals.
According to sources at Daily Mail, Asa Chappell arrived in Australia with a large group of 28 people for his five concerts.
And Chappell’s retinue was much more than roadies and security staff.
People close to her say her closest support system consisted of her friends and family, as well as the professionals who worked on her appearance and creative projects – like her hair and makeup artists, stylists, and other collaborators.
‘People were genuinely shocked,’ one source claimed.
It’s rare to see someone with such a large group traveling with them at a festival, particularly if they’re still an up-and-coming artist gaining international recognition.
Although Chappell’s large-scale tour surprised many, some experienced festival-goers also found it impressive.
‘She runs it like a pop dynasty,’ the insider added. ‘It’s very deliberate and very controlled.’
I really noticed just how much effort went into making everything perfect for her when she visited the Gold Coast. They completely changed things around – the facilities were totally dedicated to her and everyone she was traveling with. It was clear she gets special treatment, and it was quite a sight to see!
For the Gold Coast stop of the Laneway festival at Southport Sharks, Billie Eilish reportedly took over a whole gym and yoga studio, turning them into a private lounge for her and her team.
Her temporary living space had everything a pop star could want, with all the latest comforts and conveniences.
‘These weren’t just basic rooms with a couch,’ the source said.
‘They were roped off, styled and fully stocked: food, alcohol, everything you could think of.’
Experienced runners were put in charge of the group, and Chappell was kept isolated from the other performers, who were using the regular green rooms around the festival grounds.
Even with Chappell’s impressive equipment and facilities, people on set confirmed there were no signs of demanding or difficult behavior.
In fact, those working on the tour said the singer and her team were openly delighted by Australia.
According to a source, she thrived on being around large groups of people. She especially appreciated the positive energy, welcoming atmosphere, and enthusiastic support she received from the crowd, which had a significant impact on her.
Chappell was especially touched by the enthusiastic reaction from Australian audiences to her stage shows and her confident, pop-star image. Some people close to the situation believe the positive response in Australia was even greater than anticipated.
According to some industry experts, Chappell’s large group wasn’t about showing off, but about making a clear statement of his ambitions.
‘This is what it looks like when an artist steps into the big leagues,’ one source claimed.
‘She’s building something long-term, not just riding a viral moment.’
Australia appears willing to do whatever it takes – even transform gyms into extravagant venues – to achieve pop music success.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out to representatives for Chappell Roan for comment.
Chappell looked relaxed and informal on Wednesday while at Sydney airport, getting ready to fly to Melbourne for more dates on her Laneway festival tour.
Chappell disguised herself with a navy blue University of Missouri sweatshirt, pulling the hood up to hide her red-brown hair and make herself less noticeable.
She finished her outfit with comfortable, wide-leg trackpants and white sneakers.
Chappell was seen at the airport shortly after publicly ending her relationship with the talent agency Wasserman. This followed the release of inappropriate emails sent by the agency’s founder to Ghislaine Maxwell.
Just wanted to let you all know I’ve made a change with my representation. I’m no longer working with Wasserman, the agency led by Casey Wasserman. It’s a new chapter, and I’m excited about what’s next!
I expect a lot from my teams, and I also feel responsible for their well-being. No one who works with us – whether they’re an artist, agent, or employee – should ever be put in a position where they have to excuse or ignore behavior that goes against their personal beliefs.
Recently released documents from the Department of Justice contain emails between Wasserman and an associate of Jeffrey Epstein. These emails reference ‘massages,’ ‘rubbing,’ and nude activities on a beach.
Roan shared on Instagram that she deeply values the hard work of artist representatives and staff, and she won’t stay silent about issues affecting them.
Roan emphasized that artists should have representation which reflects what they believe in and ensures their well-being and respect.
