Influencer, 27, dies after ‘choking on her dinner and going into cardiac arrest’ in front of horrified family

A beloved figure in our community, an influencer, tragically passed away due to an apparent choking incident during dinner, followed by a fatal cardiac arrest in the presence of her devastated family. This serves as a stark reminder about the importance of health and safety, especially during meals.
On a Saturday evening, 27-year-old Carol Acosta, also recognized by her online alias Killadamente, was enjoying a meal at a restaurant in New York City, when an unfortunate incident occurred.
Khatyan, the younger sister of a mother of two, announced her passing in a post she shared on Instagram with over 130,000 followers. The picture depicted them both beaming happily on an airplane.
‘I love you sister and I will always love you,’ she captioned the heartbreaking tribute.
I’m grateful to God for blessing me with a sister as wonderful as you, full of kindness. May you find eternal peace, my dear sister.
In a heartfelt video message, her voice choked with emotion, she said, ‘I deeply appreciate all the kindness messages I’ve received. Thank you for standing by me during this difficult time. And I want to express my gratitude as well for the support that was given to my sister while she was still alive.’
The autopsy findings regarding Acosta’s death are still pending, however, it appears that she passed away due to a suspected cardiorespiratory failure possibly caused by choking during eating.
The Dominican Republic-born content creator’s relative stated in a report from last night: ‘There’s a lot of curiosity about the incident, but the truth is, we’re still unsure and waiting for the autopsy findings to be revealed.’
‘It seems all that’s clear is that she was eating her usual dinner when suddenly she started choking and found it hard to breathe. It appeared to be some sort of incident, and she had to go to the hospital, yet they couldn’t prevent her from passing away.’
6.6 million admirers of the social media celebrity swiftly filled the comment areas of their latest post with touching tributes.
‘This news hasn’t just affected everyone, but particularly those of us who’ve been part of this journey from the start – we feel its sting deeply.’
Another added: ‘Tell me it’s not true what they’re saying out there.’
A third commented: ‘I can’t believe it, I’m still hoping it’s fake.’
One more said: ‘Your departure hurts me, you have taught us to love our bodies just as they are.’
Acosta gained recognition for regularly publishing content that championed body positivity and dispelling harmful body stereotypes, offering inspiration along the way.
She herself had publicly spoken out about suffering bullying as a child because of her weight.
In 2017, the viral sensation unveiled a track called ‘I Love Myself and I Don’t Care.’ This translates to ‘Me Amo y No Me Importa’ in English.
The tune began with these lyrics: ‘I’m unique, my name is Killadamente. Though I may stumble, I swiftly rise, demonstrating courage; I have a touch of pride. I prioritize self-care, as I am the one who defends myself.’
Following her sudden death, Acosta tragically leaves behind two young daughters, Reina and Legend.
In a video posted a day prior to her passing, the influencer remarked while modeling a snug black gown and wearing makeup: “I used to believe that God has favorites, as some individuals can eat without gaining weight.
Given a good look, are you seriously suggesting that I, with no enhancements or alterations, am the one who looks like this, despite being on your favorites list? No one can change my mind about that.
