It’s great to finally switch gears and review some tech after focusing on games for a while! Today I’m looking at the Infinix GT 30, which I’ve been using as my daily driver for the past month. I took my time with this review to make sure I covered everything important.
Design and Handling come across as the best in the segment
Let’s talk about the design first. This phone really impressed me with its futuristic style. The lines, lighting, and glossy glass back remind me of a slightly more subtle Asus ROG phone. It’s also lightweight and well-balanced, making it comfortable to hold for extended periods, even while gaming.

I loved the way this phone felt in my hand so much that I didn’t want to put a case on it. It’s perfectly sized and comfortable to hold, with curved edges that give it a sleek, Apple-like design, but it’s generally slimmer and fits better in the hand.
Display sees some bonuses with Audio output being excellent
The device’s AMOLED screen is impressive, displaying vibrant and accurate colors. I found the brightness to be more than sufficient, even when using it outside. Plus, the touchscreen is very responsive and works flawlessly.

The screen scrolls smoothly and displays colors accurately, especially considering the phone’s price. Plus, the JBL-tuned stereo speakers deliver surprisingly good sound quality – much better than you’d typically find in this price range.
Performance and Gaming experience were pleasant
Let’s talk about gaming – that’s a big reason I tested this phone! It’s generally fast and responsive, with smooth app switching and no lag during everyday use. But it really excels when it comes to gaming. I was able to play popular games like PUBG Mobile and COD Mobile with high settings and consistently high frame rates for extended periods.
I spent a lot of time playing Delta Force, and it felt right to test the device with that game, especially the themed edition. I aimed for my preferred 90 frames per second and was really pleased with how well it performed.

The phone is powered by a strong Mediatek Dimensity 7400 processor, delivering reliable performance. I tested it with all the graphics settings and found it consistently smooth, especially in large, open environments – which is impressive for a phone at this price point. It handled everything without any lag or dropped frames.
The GT triggers were a big help, particularly in longer battles, and really improved the overall experience. After getting used to them, using standard on-screen controls felt strange. Plus, the device manages heat really well when charging, so it never gets too hot or uncomfortable to hold, even while plugged in.
I’ve been really impressed with the battery life. It easily gets me through a full day with normal use, and even with heavy activities like gaming and social media, there’s usually still some power left at the end of the day – a definite plus for the GT 30.
The camera is decent, while the phone does have some downsides
The camera is generally pretty good. Pictures look detailed and realistic in bright conditions, with vibrant but natural colors. Sometimes highlights can be a little overexposed, but my biggest issue is that my other phone just takes better photos.
This phone isn’t really meant for serious photography, but it’s great for everyday tasks. The front camera is good for selfies and video chats, and videos look clear enough for sharing online.

I was a little disappointed by the charging time. While it’s not awful – taking about 90 minutes to fully charge – it feels a bit slow, especially given how well the phone does everything else. For a gaming phone, quick charging is important, and this area feels lacking.
Call volume could be a little louder, particularly when it’s noisy. I also experienced some dropped calls, but I’m hopeful these will be resolved in future software updates. Otherwise, the phone performs well and the software feels like a definite improvement over previous Infinix models.
Final Verdict
If you need an affordable phone that looks and feels more expensive than it is, this is a great option. Infinix clearly built it with gamers in mind, but it performs well for everyday use too.
This phone performs really well when gaming, and doesn’t even get that hot during long play sessions. While there’s room for improvement, most of these issues could be addressed with software updates. Considering the price – starting around $205 (or INR 18,000) – it’s an excellent value for anyone looking for a dedicated gaming phone.
