Industry chatter rife that Married At First Sight is groom heading for The Bachelor after disaster marriage: ‘Everyone loves him’

The Bachelor Australia could soon have its first gay star. 

There’s a lot of talk in the TV industry that Sam Stanton, who recently split from his husband Chris Robinson, might be appearing on the next season of Married At First Sight.

As someone who keeps a close eye on pop culture and dating trends, let me tell you, this fitness studio owner from Adelaide is absolutely Bachelor material! I was chatting with Yahoo Lifestyle this week, and I truly believe they’ve got what it takes to find love on the show.

‘I think [Sam’s] very traditionally masculine, or stereotypically masculine,’ Bella said.

Many straight women find him appealing, and he also has a strong following among gay men. It seems he has a broad appeal.

I believe he’d be well-received by voters. And he also presents himself very well on television, making a strong emotional connection with viewers.

She added: ‘Everyone loves him. Everyone supports him.’ 

Sam appears to be going through a breakup with his husband, Chris, following difficulties shown on the reality show, Married At First Sight.

Sam told the Daily Mail that rewatching the show was ‘frustrating and difficult,’ and he revealed that one particular scene that didn’t make the final cut really upset him.

He admitted he was deeply upset by the unreleased footage, saying, ‘It really bothered me.’

The video shows Chris talking about Sam’s money and where they live, which Sam says is both upsetting and false.

‘I never once used a coupon… I actually spent more money than him,’ he said.

‘I lived with my best friend – not in a share house like he made it out.’

Chris has since addressed the moment, admitting the remark was made in the heat of the moment.

‘It was just a silly, b**chy comment,’ he said.

But for Sam, the issue ran deeper than one offhand comment.

Although Sam and the other participant seemed to be connecting at first, Sam revealed that difficulties actually started right away.

‘I felt like I was being spoken over quite a lot,’ he said.

‘If you look back at our first commitment ceremony, he talks the whole time.’

The relationship between Sam and Chris took a major turn during the commitment ceremony when Chris wrote ‘leave’ instead of their partner’s name.

‘I thought we were both going to write stay and work on things,’ he said.

‘But as soon as I saw him write leave… I was like, what am I doing here?’

From that point, Sam said the emotional connection began to fade.
